I’m experiencing something very similar where I assigned user roles to certain products and yet, I can see those even if I’m logged out.

Console just shows typical errors but nothing related to this.

Deactivated plugins and even switched themes and still not able to select.

Wait. I think I know the problem. And it’s weird. I think it’s theme related. I’m using Generate Press and I have a number of elements that add ‘by’ next to the dynamically generated post author name and that’s why it’s also appearing on top of the author box.

I did just that but nothing changed. Still seeing ‘by’

No. I am not getting any drop down like that at all. I see a drop down on Mapped User but not on Display name publicly as. I can’t do anything there.

I should mention this text appears underneath the field, even with all plugins turned off: This name is used in several default displays and some search engine integrations.

i believe that turned out to be the issue. Upgraded to 8.2 and I don’t junk the errors show up anymore.

I never got notified of a reply. So this is definitely not resolved.,

Author and Coauthor are enabled. The others are not.

I think we’re just using the standard boxes.

We currently have four. Author, Coauthor, Reviewer and Editor. I think these came with the install of the plugin.

Thanks. At first the images were all out of whack and then I realized I hadn’t included the last style. Oops! Fixed all that.
