    Thank you.

Hi again, I was able to get Wordfence to work again by DELETING all the stored Wordfence tables. WF set me up as new and has run all scans within the allotted 3 hr window. I simply clicked the option to delete all the tables upon deactivation. Once reactivated the program worked. Maybe doing this will help you.

Wordfence hasn’t crashed my VPN but it keeps generating messages that scan time has been exceeded. I deleted the error_log (both the public_html log as well as the WP admin error_log), increased the scan time to 14,400 seconds (4 hours), changed some of the settings as advised on the “Help” page – and NOTHING. Scan time still exceeded.

This did NOT happen for the past 9 months I have had the free version installed. It is very, very frustrating as I am NOT a technical expert and none of the guys at Ninja (my hosting service) can work on it because it is 3rd party software. They did confirm I had more than enough resources available to run a scan.

I have turned off the “automatic scan” button as suggested. But how to get the problem resolved I do not know.

Thank you very much for replying. I am not using a child theme, just the regular theme. However, I can use the code you indicate above to add to a child theme.

In the meantime I seem to have fixed the problem. I run the blog on Google PageSpeed in addition to my server.

1 – I turned off MOBILE in the Jetpack plugin. That was what was screwing everything up.

2 – I cleared my W3 Total Cache plugin cache (everything).

3 – I disabled the PageSpeed rewriters, flushed the PageSpeed cache then re-enabled the rewriters.

That seems to have taken care of the problem.

Hello Purkle, I don’t know where the “fix” occurred. Only that it worked on my blog. What I did was reboot my computer, deactivate the Jetpack plugin, then re-activate it. I also deactivated my original connection to FB then reactivated it. After that everything worked fine, and is still working. If you do all that and it still doesn’t work maybe you can write up your difficulty on the wordpress COM site (open a new ticket) and they will help you. Blessings, G

Hello purkelturkle, I got my blog fixed by asking for assistance from the wordpress.COM site. If you have signed up with your blog you can access the thread here:

    All the best,
    Gillian

Hello again, Atmasphere, I have associated my wordpress install with the Shift Frequency page. I have 2 FB pages – my personal page and my blog page. To set up Jetpack you have to allow the blog to post to FB. Jetpack goes out and locates all pages associated with the FB user (my real profile plus any additional profiles). Jetpack then populates both my personal page and my blog page and gives me the option to select either or both pages to post to. I select the blog page and that is where it posts.

I very much appreciate the way you have attempted to assist me.

    Blessings, Gillian

Thank you, atmasphere. So, how do I create an avatar that it will default to? Blessings, Gillian

I would appreciate some help as well. For the first few days of using the Jetpack FB plugin everything worked great! My images were posted and the links and content looked great. For the past 3 days the image is NO LONGER being populated on FB. Instead an UGLY glyph (like an upturned “G”) is littering my entire page. I can’t get rid of it. I would be ok with NO PIC showing rather than that awful, meaningless UGLY glyph.

I don’t know what to do to get rid of it or to get pictures to show on my FB page again.

Go see for yourself how UGLY this is.

    Please assist.

    Thank you.

Thank you once again, Peter. I will post what they say. Hopefully, more than “say” they will “fix.”

Thank you very much for replying, Peter. I will copy your reply and send it to the Support team at my ISP. They claim that nothing has been done to alter my service and that the SENDMAIL function is working. But hey, it’s worth a try!

The SENDMAIL function is set up with my ISP email address for the WP blog and both the “reply-to” and “from” fields are filled in. As stated, EVERYTHING worked PERFECTLY until the last 2 WP upgrades. 3.3.1 was an intermittent mail-delivery interrupt “problem.” 3.3.2 is zero mail thus far. Of course this may simply be timing – ISPs making changes and WP making upgrades somewhat simultaneously. It is difficult for a non-techie like me to troubleshoot from a position of great ignorance. I have over a 1,000 subscribers and this, to put it mildly, SUCKS!
