In reply to: [Login with Amazon] No ButtonHi Trader4300,
You may be confusing this plugin with another. This plugin solely provides the ability to login to your WordPress site with Amazon instead of the regular WordPress login and only places the button on your login page.
If you go to https://www.goodolddayscountryshop.com/WPstore/wp-login.php, you’ll see an invitation to login with your WordPress.com credentials or “login with username and password.”
If you choose the username and password option, it will take you to a login screen where you’re offered an option to login to the site with a unique username and password, *or* WordPress.com, *or* Login with Amazon.

In reply to: [Combrite] Event Search does not workCombrite’s search works for me, but EventBrite’s doesn’t. It’s been 2 hours and I cannot get my event in search results via Combrite or the EventBrite site. In fact, if I search for CoderDojo (an international movement of computer clubs for *children*) in Seattle right now, EB’s “most relevant” result is a sexual fetish class on rope bondage.
If I search for “Seattle CoderDojo” via Combrite or Eventbrite, the only item that comes up is an event we held in September.
It would be nice if Combrite allowed you to directly enter the eventID instead of having to use the search, and I may end up having to dump it because it doesn’t. But I’m more strongly considering dumping Eventbrite.

In reply to: Error establishing a database connectionInstalled 5.4 beta and was able to get direct localhost connection via the GUI client, but not via WordPress. I tried both Localhost and 127.0.0.1 to no avail. Finally tried 127.0.0.1:3306. Voila, WordPress is up and running.

In reply to: Error establishing a database connectionActually, my problem may be due to Snow Leopard and the fact that there are all sorts of quirks and issues with installs of packages intended for Leopard.
I can get phpMyAdmin and a GUI MySQL manager to connect to the database via the socket method, but can’t connect via TCP to localhost, the hostname, or 127.0.0.1. So, since WordPress requires a host name, I can’t make it connect.
I think I may clear the current install and compile MySQL from source. Also heard that the latest 5.4 beta worked nicely on Snow Leopard.

In reply to: Hijacking Pages Via Styles In CommentsYes, found this out myself. Didn’t think to log out until after I went crazy with it. Was just coming back to delete or close this post.

In reply to: Add Link Hijack?%3A is the code for the colon when you use URL encoding, such as the urlencode() function in PHP.
Sounds more like there’s a bug in the code than a hijacking going on.
