Ok Chris, thanks for the offer but giving out credentials to a (for me) unknown third party to fix a plugin is a step too far for my peace of mind.

The link you are pointing at does not give info on the problems of 3.5.2 and IIS servers. Is it really true that users on IIS servers can only do manual updates?
