In reply to: Site Incredibly SlowI think I’ll mark this post as resolved. I’m not entirely happy with the speed of loading – however I’ll have to chip away at it bit by bit when I have some time to devote to it. Thanks to all those who contributed.

In reply to: Site Incredibly SlowYes, I tried using cache plugins a few weeks back, and unfortunately they don’t work for some reason? They ended up screwing up the site.

In reply to: Site Incredibly SlowThanks Guys. I see it is loading quicker now, but it has the habit of doing that once I load it for the second (and consecutive times). I’ll have a go tomorrow and see what happens.
I did just log in using the ftp and found a couple of old files on the style sheet which I had re-named and left sitting there. I’ve just removed them, and wondered whether there may have been a conflict there?
I guess we’ll see tomorrow.

In reply to: W3 Total Cache Not ActivatingExactly the same message Esmi. This is it –
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 491520 bytes) in /home/…/public_html/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/lib/W3/ConfigKeys.php on line 1317

In reply to: W3 Total Cache Not ActivatingI still have no resolution to this yet. I have increased memory to ridiculous amounts and cannot install it still. Does anyone else have any more suggestions please?

In reply to: W3 Total Cache Not ActivatingI have rung my hosting provider and they created a php.ini file directly inside the public HTML folder (even though my last post showed I had one) and have increased the memory and even tried turning the safe mode on and off – still no luck in installing it?
I think this plugin is a no go for me I’m afraid…

In reply to: W3 Total Cache Not ActivatingI have just found a post that showed how to create a phpinfo.php file and then to access that via a browser to find the path. I’ve done that – and get – (/usr/local/lib/php.ini).
Do you know I STILL can’t find that path. It doesn’t seem to exist? I am now confused…

In reply to: W3 Total Cache Not ActivatingThanks for that. I’m using the twenty eleven theme and have done a backup of all the server files, and can’t find that file in there. I thought that might be easier than trying to find it on the server.
Any Suggestions please?
