    Greetings @rhprn,

We did end up contacting you back on May 31st but it sounds as though that message might have been missed. We also attempted to call you a few times today but unfortunately it sounded as though you could not hear us.

We also checked your account and did not see any tickets submitted but if you could please go ahead and login via https://hostgator.com/billing , then head to the “Support” section, you will be able to reply back to our recent e-mail offering further assistance on this situation.

Thanks for your attention and we’ll be watching for your response.

    Good Afternoon,

We’d like to start by apologizing to @leadtradio for the trouble yesterday with the MySQL service on this server, but are happy to report the issue has now been resolved. That said, we wanted to jump in here to clarify that there this was not actually a compromise of the server and instead, found that the MySQL service required emergency maintenance as disclosed on our forum here : https://forums.hostgator.com/06-01-2016-14-30-gator4077-t342596.html?t=342596&highlight=gator4077.hostgator.com

We understand this may have been improperly conveyed by the front line agent you spoke with so we’ve located your account and will be taking time to review the call and will be following up with you shortly. If you have any additional questions or concerns on this, please feel free to reply back to our contact or please feel free to reach me directly at [email protected] (Attention : Jonathan H.) and I’ll be more than happy to continue our conversation.

Thanks again for your attention and please expect contact from us shortly.

    Good Afternoon salvo98,

    Good Afternoon,

We apologize for the delay here, however we are hoping to get more involved with the WordPress forums and wanted to comment on this inquiry in case it would be helpful for current customers. Although we were sorry to hear you have moved on to a new host, we did want to get this information posted in case you are still struggling with this, or in case anyone else has a similar issue.

When you first open a cPanel backup, you will see a folder which is named after the date of the backup and the username. Within this folder, you would want to look for a folder named “mysql.” Within the “mysql” folder you will find copies of all databases for that cPanel user.

In case anyone is still struggling with this question we hope this information helps but please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

    Greetings @derock,

We certainly appreciate your interest in HostGator and @jess is definitely right that as you might guess, our WordPress packages are specially designed for the WordPress platform, however the benefits do not end there.

Our WordPress packages also include increased security through the option of a firewall and daily malware scanning. Additionally these packages also offer off-site daily backups in case of any emergencies. More information can be found here : https://www.hostgator.com/managed-wordpress-hosting#compare-table

We hope this helps but if you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me via [email protected] (Attention : Jonathan H.) and I’ll be more than happy to continue our conversation.

    Good Afternoon DanielGarland,

We are very excited to hear you’ve chosen HostGator to host your WordPress and would more than happy to help with getting your site uploaded. In addition to the codex mentioned by Ron, HostGator also has a guide available which is a bit more specific to our particular platform which can be reviewed here :

    https://support.hostgator.com/articles/hosting-guide/website-transfers/how-to-transfer-your-wordpress-blog-from-one-host-to-another-host

In regards to step 1 there, if you are not using phpMyAdmin on your local machine, then you would just need to make sure to have a copy of the database before proceeding. Also, in regards to your original question, it is possible that some updates to paths might need to be made but we would need to take a look at the content first to make that call. If so, there are “Search and Replace” type plugins which can be used to update incorrect paths/URLs but we always recommend ensuring you have a backup copy of the files and database before running any of those operations.

I’ve also found the following article which looks to be geared more towards uploading directly from a local machine rather than a previous host : https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-move-wordpress-from-local-server-to-live-site/

If you run into any trouble with this process or have any questions, if you could please e-mail [email protected] ATTN : Jonathan H. I’ll be glad to help walk you through the steps.

    Greetings Mark,

Thanks for getting back in touch with me and my apologies for the delay as we had some severe flooding in the Houston area yesterday which set us back a day. I’ve located the related test account and will be following up shortly to see about getting that account activated, and yes, as you guessed, our system does trigger alerts for any attempted signups for a good number of trademarked companies.

    Greetings,

We’ve since received an update from glsonn indicating that the plugin seems to be working fine in learning mode but if we can help take a look at any other issues on our platform, please feel free to update this thread and we’ll be glad to take another look.
