  • The plugin has been tested and does work with WordPress 2.6

The problem is you are using excerpts in your feed. WordPress likes to strip much of the mark up when presenting an excerpt. Modify your feed in WordPress to be a full text feed and that should correct your problem.

In the current version you can insert the following HTML comment anywhere in the post or page content:

    <!–no-bookmarkify–>

and the widget will not appear in that page or post.

    Hi deafmon,

You simply need to go to the Bookmarkify Options / Setting page in the WordPress admin console and select which Bookmarking sites you would like to add to each post. You can also set other options like adding a link to see all bookmark sites and removing the “Powered by Bookmarkify” link from the bottom of the post.

I’ve seen that error quite a bit with home grown RSS feeds. I’ve not yet seen it with a WordPress RSS feed.

One cause of the error is a malformed XML document. Another cause is an invalid character somewhere in the content.

If you open the RSS feed url in IE7 and get the error click on the link for more info. It should direct you to the exact line where the issue is. That may help you resolve it.

    Good luck.

    Hello IMC,

There was an RSS issue with the an earlier version of Bookmarkify. Have you downloaded the latest update?

If so, what is your site? Perhaps I can try to diagnose the issue by looking more closely at your feed.

    iamsungkang,

I’ve looked into the issue you described and I have not been able to duplicate it.

If you are still experiencing this issue, please contact me with me more information.

I’m not sure about the first issue you related. I will look into it.

The second issue is what the Amazon Context Link script does. It finds relevant keywords in your page and automatically creates product links out of them. Sometimes, what it chooses to do is unusual. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn’t really give you a way to control this. You either user the script or you don’t. Amazonify merely supports the enabling or disabling of the script.

I’ll get back to you on the first issue.

    ThaNerd,

Perhaps you are not really the “author”, but your code patch was very useful in identifying a bug that manifested itself only sometimes. That patch is part of the code base now so you have in fact contributed to the development of Bookmarkify.

I placed your name in the “Contributors” section of the readme.txt file. WordPress apparently labels that section “Authors” when viewing it here.

In any case your contribution was useful and is appreciated. Thank you.

As for your digging in, I’m all for it.

Thank you, Opally. I’m glad you like it.

The text link in the example post was originally inserted by hand. Only the product boxes were inserted using Amazonify.

However, I just uploaded a new release that now supports inline text links and the example post on my site has been updated to use it.

The readme.txt file covers how to create the text links.

    Enjoy!!

    Gary
