I searched, there is no search.php file anywhere in my /wp-content or /wp-includes directories, except for Relevanssi plugin and that search.php is purely code to drive the engine with no display properties. Supposedly there should be a search_results.php or similar somewhere. I’m not seeing it though.

Thanks for the tip! I figured it out. Evidently general-template.php had Windows-style carriage returns instead of proper unix-style. Reloaded a fresh copy from wordpress installation zip.

Well, frankly this plugin needs to be clearly labeled “for advanced users only”. I never would have thought that link structure had anything to do with my sitemap plugin not working correctly.

What’s wrong with the default link structure? Why would I need to change? I would never think that “being able to create sitemap.xml” and “I saw no need to change my link structure” were related in any way. Huh?

Does anyone have any advice about a new search results template? I can’t find any replacement and nobody replies to my question.

Deactivate it? Well, that’s no good, I don’t want my stats full of my behind the scenes admin stuff. I tried it but it still won’t accept admin as a filter.

Just checked it again, still not working.

Maybe it’s because I have “Track Admin Pages” set to no. This still shows my usage when I’m testing the site. I don’t want to see any of my stats included because all my testing makes me a heavy user and distorts the real stats.

Version 3.3.4, just installed it yesterday.

As long as the plugin is fully utf-8 compliant, it should work. That’s been my experience so far. Honestly, in 2013, I’m more surprised about software that’s not utf-8 than is. You can check this link which searches in Chinese.

I installed a new search plugin in hopes it would fix the problem. It didn’t but it did have the effect of making the URL above not work any more. Please use this link for testing instead.

Search results

You can see that 193 displays, and there is a nice line underneath, but 194 does not respect that line and starts too soon. On the next result, the data for 194 is displayed, but looks like it is for 156.

This smells like a scam. Move to another host, a website with 100 hits per week shouldn’t hit ANY resource limits, no matter if it’s on a shared host.
