In reply to: widgets admin page acts funny. how to fix?Yeah, I’ve got scriptalicious in there.
This is not a recent install, but I tried that tiger admin a while ago and then uninstalled it.If I just upload that admin/directory and overwrite everything, will my wordpress be affected? I guess I’m wondering if the regular use of wordpress writes changes to those admin files.
Thanks

In reply to: a “submit info” plugin?thx for the reply, moshu.
But yeah, I already tried that one, and it only allows the user to send a single comment to the blog’s author.
But then I noticed the config options that they listed on a different page, and you can configure all sorts of extra input fields.
Jeez, that’s what I get for not reading all the instructions carefully!
Thanks again moshu

In reply to: Hacked BlogAlso consider that you might have spyware installed on your computer. The hacker might not actually be hacking your website – maybe he’s just seeing every new password you make.
Here’s something you can do to try to identify his ip: create a new stats counter at statcounter or sitemeter, and embed it into the footer file for the admin page. Be sure to exclude your own ip address. When/if this person logs into your wordpress and opens the admin page, his “visit” to the admin page will be logged.
The page you want to embed it in is admin-footer.php located in the wp-admin folder. Good luck.

In reply to: How to get search form to work on static page?Brittanie, you made total sense about the static page needing to be ‘connected,’ so I looked for that while searching through Moshu’s link. And Moshu, you’re right about the searchform. Found the solution in your link.
But let me clarify the situation, and I’ll explain the answer.
My wp is installed to a folder. I created a static front page for the gateway of my site, which I then configured to ‘pull’ all of the content from my wp’s front page. So site.com/index.php ‘mirrors’ site.com/wpinstall/index.php
Problem as stated above, is that searches while on site.com didn’t work, while searches from site.com/wpinstall/ worked fine.
The solution was to go into the search form and change the “action” command to /wpinstall/index.php
instead of <?php echo $_SERVER[‘PHP_SELF’]; ?>And now all is well, and I can go to sleep.
Thanks guys!

In reply to: How to get search form to work on static page?Thx for the reply moshu, but I should clarify what I meant.
I don’t need it to search static pages, I just it need to display the same results as if the search was done from within wp. If I do a search from the static page, nothing happens. Doing the same search from my wp’s front page works fine.
So I thought I need to change something in that line:
<?php include (TEMPLATEPATH . ‘/searchform.php’); ?>But I don’t know what to change. Do you know?
Thanks

In reply to: You know how your front page posts get pushed back a page…Let me clarify:
Let’s say I opt to show 10 posts. When I make 20 posts, the first 10 are moved to a page called /page/1
If I do another 10 (and there’s thirty now) the second 10 get moved to /page/2My question is, how many of these pages keep building up? Or does it just keep going?
