For this time I opted for the separate sites option.
But I will keep the multisite solution in mind.

if I’d go for the multisite solution would this be possible with a complete finished .xml file in the second language?

If both site-“parts” would share the same data base would the newly imported .xml file (valid only for the second language) not overwrite parts of the existing data and create confusion with original data in the first language?

Would it be possible with this plugIn then to import the whole .xml (containing only one language)? Or must there be a .xml file containing BOTH languages?

Jesus, this stuff gets me confused a bit ??

For I couldn’t get ahead with this problem I now use the wp-mail-smtp plugIn sending mails via SMTP as it seems. Works perfect. No more hassles.

still struggling with the wrong “Failed to send…” message on my contact form 7 forms. (still email – thanks god – do arrive, yet, I had to hack overwriting manually a success message in the failed message field)
I installed postman-smtp now but got this error:
“Postman: wp_mail has been declared by another plugin or theme, so you won’t be able to use Postman until the conflict is resolved”
I wonder how this plugIn could help me to debug, if I don’t want (pure fear) to switch the whole email(contact form system)
Quite frankly I also do not understand the setUp postman asked me to do.
For example:
“Enter the email address and name you’d like to send mail as.”
What does that mean. I do not want to send emails with wordpress.
The users of the site have to fill contact forms to send emails to my client. That’s all.

Damn, that email stuff fears the hell out of me.
My horror scenario is user writing mails to me clients, confirmed that mail is sent, and may client don’t receive it.

Thanks for any ideas or explanations around this message bug.

I switched off all my plugIns (except one, see above) and no result.

@buzztone: I am close to install this plugIn but I am a little afraid that it will mess up all my email system in wp. For this is one the matters that I never quite well understood. All those dubious server permissions and so on. Makes me shiver.

When this plugIn (in case) would be deinstalled again, will everything turn as it was?
Can you give me an idea of how to debug this error with the help of it?

is this other site on the same server? (guess not)
I tried disactivating all plugIns. Captcha is switched off in any case.

this indeed gives me some comfort not to be alone with this!
I tried many things…

?? Change the message would be the ultimate hack :-))
But beware of the future…

Now I definitely redefined all contact forms in the right manner.
All show the same error alert (all arrive as usual, with all tags correctly filled etc.)

If it would’t be so dangerous for the future I would be tempted to change the failure message into the successful message and everything would be alright. Weird though.

thanks for your response!
I deactivated all plugIns (except WP Bakery without whom my page didn’t start)
Same result.
I recognized that in some contact forms that I defined messed up a little with the tags (not generating them as proposed)

Yet I did a new contact form from the start with the minimal settings and didn’t change anything. Used this one, same error message.

Note: ALL email that I send with all contact forms I did always arrived, only the success message won’t show up in any case.

I have no more idea what to do.:-(

how can I tell some JS code on my logIn page if the user is logged in or not? In particular I would love to have some kind of overlayer that disappears on a successful log in and remains unchanged if the login failed or isn’t done at all.
