In reply to: [Getwid - Gutenberg Blocks] FAQ schema metadata for Accordion block?Hey @eugenewhite!
Thank you for the answer. We’ve used Yoast’s FAQ block for that task and can live with it, yet we still kind of miss the accordion effect. But I understand that this purpose is too specific.
Best,
Tim
Hallo @mgpp!
Tim
Hello @sarah9303
We have investigated the problem you described, where ISC input fields in the Media Library would become deselected when switching from a modified field. I just wanted to give you a quick update.
The problem is actually an old one and not restricted to Image Source Control. There has been a WordPress Core Trac ticket unsolved for 5 years now that describes exactly what we are witnessing.
Since we don’t expect the Core team to get to this anytime soon, we are currently investigating workarounds for our plugin. Thanks again for letting us know and helping us improve our work.
Another thing: I know I couldn’t give you any substantial help because your original problem sort of solved itself, but if you essentially liked my support I’d very much appreciate it if you could leave a short review for our plugin as a “virtual tip”.
Thank you! Best
TimHallo @mgpp!
Vielen Dank, dass du dich bei uns meldest. Leider kann ich deine Beobachtung nicht reproduzieren. Ich habe folgende Plugins/Themes auf einer Test-Installation von WordPress 6.0 aktiviert:
- Image Source Control Lite 2.5.0
- FileBird Lite 4.9.8
- GeneratePress 3.1.3
Tim
Hello @sarah9303
Thank you for your reply. Sure, anytime, I’m happy to help. Although, in effect, you did all of the problem-solving yourself ??
Concerning your afterthought—I know what you’re referring to, and I’ll make sure to pass it on to our developers. Thank you for your feedback!

TimHello @sarah9303
Thank you for your answer. Don’t fret, I got your link from the e-mail notification.
I looked at the article and studied the images in the “Victorian” section. They’re all JPEGs and, as you said, ISC works perfectly fine for them. At this point I can’t trace back what was wrong before, I’m sorry.
Still, it’s a weird hiccup, the source disappearing for one particular image. I’m very convinced that it won’t, but if this ever occurs again, I’d be happy to take another look. Just open another thread if the need arises.
Thank you!

TimHello @sarah9303
Thank you for your reply. Not a problem, I just really wanted to help you solve this and maybe find out if there is a general issue with our plugin, so I decided to inquire.
It’s great that you’ve found an interim solution that works. Still, it’d be good to sort this out, for both of us.
This is quite peculiar. Since I can’t replicate your exact conditions, could I maybe ask you to insert the JPEGs of those images in an old post that’s not visited very often and set a source and source URL, then post the link here? Just for a few days, so we can observe this in isolation?
If you’re worried about legalities, I propose just adding the source and link to the creator in the images’ captions for that time.Thank you in advance!

TimHello @sarah9303
Are you still having trouble getting the Overlay to display on your image from Pixabay? Or maybe you would like me to rephrase my questions?
For starters, it would be most helpful to get a link to the page where the problem is observable. Simply copy the address in your browser’s address bar while looking at the page and post it in a reply here.
If we’re lucky, I can analyze the problem in that page’s source code.I’d still be more than happy to help, I just need a bit more specific information on your case. Thank you!

TimHello @sarah9303
Thank you for reaching out!
I tried to replicate what you described in a staging setup, usingPixabay
as “Image Source” andhttps://pixabay.com/photos/victorian-house-old-architecture-1269908/
as “Image Source URL”. It works in the Twenty Twenty-Two theme that I used—the source in the Overlay displays as expected.Image Source Control doesn’t filter what you put into the source or URL fields, I can assure you. But I wonder if you might have accidentally pasted strange content into any of the two fields.
Hence, could you please provide me with the following info:
- Which version of Image Source Control are you using? You can see this in Plugins > Installed Plugins on the entry for Image Source Control.
- Are both the source field and the URL field for that image in your Media Library empty after saving the changes? Or do they contain the info you’ve just put in there?
- If possible, please provide a link to the post where the image with “broken” source info is placed.
- Please paste the two exact strings that you try to put into the source field and the URL field into your reply, making sure to put it into “CODE” tags here in the forum’s reply field.
This should hopefully help me to better help you. Thank you!

TimTogether with extensive help from the user, we have accomplished narrowing down and fixing the problem. This is addressed in an update that will be released within a day.
@thecrazytourist Thank you for your tests, we are much obliged.Tim
Hey Joachim!
Thank you so much for your kind words, they mean a lot to us.
True, it’s also our recommendation to start integrating image attribution into one’s editorial workflows as early as possible. After the first couple of posts, filling in credits while placing pictures becomes a natural habit.Best
TimHello @egocefalo,
thank you.
Maybe you have missed it, but as we have stated in the plugin’s description (scroll down to “Featured Image Caption”), the option to display credits for Featured Images in an overlay is part of ISC Pro.
Although it seems like a simple feature, since many themes mess around with the Featured Image’s markup and styling, offering overlay credits for them unfortunately leads to an abnormally high workload for our support.
There’s an alternative if you have qualms about premium plugins: Users of ISC Lite are able to display image credits for Featured Images in both the Per-page list as well as the Global list. Please refer to our documentation in order to learn how to set those up.
I hope that you’ll see ISC Lite in a different light—for the cornucopia of free features it does offer and for its merits—and that you’ll reconsider your rating.
Best
Tim
