In reply to: ‘progress’ plugin?Hi
knit.eclecticpixels.com is my knitting blog – I was wondering why all the hits coming from wordpress today!
There are several different (but similar) versions of the progress bars floating around. Unfortunately, the woman who created the swf file for the flash version is no longer online.
There is a version that utilizes html and javascript that you can find here: https://www.unlikelywords.com/html-morsels/ – I would think it would work for any blog as long as you know where to put the different bits.
Darcie, your css animated version is cute. Nice work.

In reply to: WordPress knitting blogHi there
Knitters are everywhere…LOL
Sorry to say, I’m transferring my site to a different blogging tool – I just don’t have the time or temperment these days to play with getting things working the way I want them. But I can see that WordPress has huge potential – maybe one day I’ll try it again.

In reply to: Calendar Link?…been there and done that – still having issues with Mozilla.
I’m going to back track and see what else I’ve done that may have affected this, since it works for IE apparently.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Calendar Link?Okay then – I tried the latest CVS version and I’m still having problems with this – anyone else??

In reply to: Calendar Link? Can anyone tell me if it’s just a line or two that can be corrected manually instead of updating everything?

In reply to: Calendar Link?Is it a simple fix – I’d rather just stay with the version I have, so if it’s just a line or two that needs editing, maybe someone could post it here?
Thanks.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Calendar Link?I should say – it works for IE, but not Mozilla. And I KNOW WORDPRESS DOESN’T want to be just an IE application… ??

In reply to: adding mine to the listI like what you’ve done with the layout, but agree with MaxT about that background, the colour just isn’t working with the rest of the colour scheme (being grey).
It almost looks like a rust colour to me. I’d love to see you use something in the blue tones, but it IS your space afterall, so do what works for you.Forum: Your WordPress
In reply to: WordPress knitting blogThank-you!
I was worried at first when you said – “even for a knitting blog”. Actually, most of the bloggers I know take the time to customize their sites. I’ve been blogging since 1998 or 1999 – feels like longer? I’m in the process of getting my photography back online (Gallery with pMachine integration, but only because I discovered pMachine before I knew about WordPress).
Your site looks pretty nice, btw – I’m still learning what WP can do, so it’s nice to look at what other people have done. You certainly know your stuff!

In reply to: Setting up & helping outLooks great – any chance you’ll be adding a 3 column layout any time?
(currently I am pulling my hair out trying to get 3 columns to behave…SIGH).
Anyway – nice work!Forum: Your WordPress
In reply to: TessaUmmm… I’m not the anonymous poster with the question about coloured scrollbars – I was merely saying that on a personal space it’s up to the individual what they want to do.
On my sites, I support web standards, and don’t use browser specific code. But that’s my choice, doesn’t have to be everyone else’s.Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Figuring out what the database is…Definitely check with your hosting company and see if you have MySQL. If you don’t – see if it’s something you can have added into your hosting package – you have have to change plans or something.
Usually when you sign on with a host you get some kind of standardized welcome letter that lists things like ftp login info, email account info, MySQL (if you have it), passwords and other pertinent info. Do you remember receiving anything like this?
