    Hi Kat,

Many thanks for your reply. Completely misunderstood about the support function. My bad. Have just logged in and message you from there. Hope it helps solve things.

    Kind regards

    Hello once more,

It looks like the Cryout Serious Theme Settings plug in is a one hit wonder. Today I updated my Parabola installation to the latest version, reactivated the plug in and to my delight the Settings page was there. So I was able to make the changes as required.

However when I left the settings page and returned to it later I found that it had gone again and I was once more getting the error page asking me to installed the Cryout Serious Theme Settings plug in again. We are right back where we started.

As this site uses the presentation page access to the Settings Page is vital so that this information can be kept updated.

Please can you get back to me on this as soon as you can. Many thanks.

    Hi there,

Me again. Further to my previous post I have tried deactivating and reactivating the Cryout plug in; I have unistalled and reinstalled the Cryout Plugin; I have tried Ctrl F5; I have cleared the cache; and tried it in two different broswers. Still doesn’t work.

Can you please get back to me ASAP as I need to get in to the Parabola Settings to change some content on the Presentation page.

    Many thanks

    Hi again Kat,

Apologies for calling you Ket. The last time we had this issue was 11th March when the three back-ups I have set for my client on the arabiaholidays.com website got stalled. I set up the Support link to yourselves as suggested, cancelled the stalled backups and manually backed up each of the options I have set up. They all worked correctly.

However, the daily database backup ran correctly on 12th March, the weekly files back up set for Saturday the 12th did not complete, but the the weekly files back up set for Sunday 13th did work correctly. The daily backups then stopped and nothing was backed up and no e-mails sent.

My client informed me today and a daily database and the failed weekly files back up were still showing as backing up. I cancelled them and have successfully manually updated all three today.

My worry is that one of the two weekly updates, on eather Saturday or Sunday will stall again bringing the system down. I had hoped that by setting up the online Support as per your suggestion that you would be able to advise more clearly as to what it up and how I can fix it.

Please can you let me know ASAP.

    Kind regards

    Pete

    Hi Ket,

I have just heard back from my client, arabiaholidays.com that I can activate the support function for your Back Up plug in on their website. Which I have just done as suggested. The system stopped again. The smaller daily back up had stalled as had one of the two larger weekly ones. What is odd that the weekly back up seems to have stalled over a week ago and the other weekly back up, and several daily back ups have worked correctly while this one was stalled. It is frustrating to have to manually stop and create a back up around once a month for a system which should be automatic. Can you please advise me further on this so that I can be sure my client has ongoing back ups?

    Many thanks

    Hi Kat,

Many thanks on getting back to me. I had considered that this could be the issue. However the hosting package I have, with UK provider Fasthosts, is not supposed to have any hard limits and will contact me if there is an issue with limits on any domain. I have not heard anything from them. I have noticed that this does seem to occur when the stored back-ups have reached the maximum (for example 7), but it doesn’t happen all the time.

I have asked my client for permission for me to activate the Support function for you and am waiting to hear back from them. They are more than likely to OK this and I will let you know as soon as I do.

Many thanks again for your help, will be in touch soon.

    Hi Kat,

Many thanks for your useful and prompt help on this. I have tried reducing the size of the files to be backed up and those to be excluded. When it gets down to 175Mb it still fails, but at 108Mb it backs up correctly. This appears to be the solution.

    Many thanks again,

    Pete

    Hi Kat,

Many thanks for your swift reply. Have had to go away this weekend and was only able to get back to this today.

I think you are right about it being a partial file on the FTP version as it is less than half a Gb and the estimated size is 1Gb.

I have tried a manual back up and that, sadly doesn’t work. However I have tried a manual back up excluding the Uploads folder and that worked brilliantly. I then tried a manual back up with everything other than the Uploads folder excluded and it didn’t work. The memory amount here was 940Mb. Could size be an issue? Would excluding different folders in the Upload file help?

Sadly the site is for a client of mine and is currently live, it is not an option to change the theme or deactivate plug ins as my client is using the site daily.

Everything else works fine, everything bar the Uploads folder. if you have any more advice that would be great.

Many thanks in advance, looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hi again,

Great news! I have found that I can solve a lot of my issues with the Outerbridge Nested Shortcodes plug-in.

Which just leaves me with the styling issues. Can anyone let me know how to reposition the Next and Prev buttons (which I have changed to < and >) so that they are to the left and right of the carousel and centered veritally in the depth. That would be really great thanks.

You can see how far I have got on this link:

Looking forward to some ideas and suggestions.

    Many thanks

    Hi there,

Many thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunately setting the margin to 10 does not in fact put a 10px margin in to the system, the images still have no gap between them. No matter what integer I put here there is still no gap. I have tried 50 for example.

Also, this doesn’t explain why the first image starts around 32 pixels in from the left, causing a gap at the front of the carousel and the final image falling short at the end. You can see this in the link of the test scroller I have set up already here:

    https://1078174551.n646418.test.prositehosting.co.uk/golf/#Dubai

Also, according to your own website videos are integrated, which is one of the reasons I selected your plug-in in the first place. You shouldn’t market something that is not available. The link to this information is:

    https://bxslider.com/examples/video

I can tell from the examples on your site that the plug-in will do what I want, however the way the carousel works on your site and on mine differs, plus there is the issue of the videos.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon on this.

    Many thanks

    Hi there Nickolas,

Many thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunately I found an alternative solution for my client and have gone live with a different plug-in offering the same service.

    Cheers

    Hello there,

Anyone got any ideas on how this plug in works? Or if there is another simple roll over plug in available out there?

If anyone could let me know that would be fab.

    Many thanks

    Hi again,

Was just wondering if anyone had any ideas as to why this plug in won’t work when the Huge IT Gallery slider is on the same page. Be great to get this sorted and hopefully get to use it.

    Hoping someone can help,

    Cheers

    Hi Tom and Dave,

Just wondered if you have had a chance to have another think about this. I have found an alternative content carousel but would still prefer to use yours. At present I have taken your plug in off the Dubai page for testing another option. But if you have any ideas as to why the jQuery isn’t working properly please let me know.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

    Many thanks

    Hi Dave,

Thank you for your quick reply. I have tried putting the code in to the footer and sadly the same problem continues. I’m not an expert on jQuery, could the issue be that the code is in more than one place on a page. For example, if I have put it in the footer should I remove it from the page, or the header, just in case? Seems odd. Look forward to hearing your ideas and thoughts. Many thanks for all your help.

    Cheers
    Pete
