In reply to: Free WordPress Hosting (5GB) with every DomainsThanks for the comments, Hmmmm – I have seen the same with Joomla, RSS is also not working out there though many extensions were working well with this free hosting plan. However, one interesting thing is that Quick blog that comes free with domain from them works well with RSS. I have not installed it yet ( as I was trying out first with wordpress) but,I have seen it at https://blog.humdomains.info
Unfortunately, their support are limited to technical issues only, but not for fixing script developed by the third party such as wordpress or joomla.

In reply to: Free WordPress Hosting (5GB) with every DomainsHi Micheal,
I almost decided not to try any further after hearing from you. However, I just wanted to try.
I installed wordpress 2.2.1 manually here – See at https://www.manipurtimes.com/wordpress2/ – smooth installation. I play around with some themes – some of them fails to give proper layout (due to the ads on the top). However mostly works well.
So far I have not tried any plugins. What kind of problems do you faced before. I can have a try and check it out.
Best wishes,
SINGH

In reply to: Free WordPress Hosting (5GB) with every DomainsHi Micheal,
Thanks for the reply. Do you have any idea on what kind of problem do they usually faced for using this free plans (being free, it may not support everything – just a guess). What about the paid hosting plan – does the problems solved after upgrading to paid hosting plan.
Your valuable suggestion is appreciated.

In reply to: Reasons to go free or paid hosting WordPressHi,
Paid Hosting : If you can afford that’s the best option. You can always find a one $2-4/m – that’s affordable, as cheap as a burger king.
Free Hosting : It is purely my opinion. I will not opt for a free hosting unless there is an upgrade plan in future. I also will not opt if the service provider do not allow my domain to be hosted anywhere I want in future. What’s that means. Get a domain (really cheap nowadays) with free PHP/mySQL hosting plan (force ads are bearable). If the free hosting plan have all the facility with the paid hosting plan except the force ads, then you will have complete control over – you can really play around with wordpress.
Please see this thread that I have started a couple of ago,

I bought my domain from https://www.humdomains.com and testing wordpress out there with the free hosting plan. I like his because I can play around with plugin/addons. Most importantly, I can update to paid hosting plan latter on whenever I feel need it.

In reply to: 1and1 HostingI used Lunarpages at the moment, however exploring wordpress and other CMS’s with the free 5GB hosting plan that come along with the domain. Check this thread

My aim is if everything works well with the free hosting plan, I will move to Economy Plan ($3.99/m) with 10 MyQSL – which is nothing but the same with the free hosting plan except the forced ads.

In reply to: Free WordPress Hosting (5GB) with every DomainsDoes any have experience with this free or paid hosting plan.
Exploring further, I have tried installing Joomla 1.0.2 – https://www.manipurtimes.com/joomla/
It works fine. I am going to try installing the latest version of wordpress and check out if it works with the FREE hosting plan. If it works, that will be just great.
If someone has the experience with it please reply to this post
