I just thought I’d update you on this. It’s a hosting issue. My hosting platform is Zeus and not Apache. This means anything that uses mod_rewrite will not work properly as the Zeus platform has rewrite rules but they are completely different to the syntax that mod_rewrite(apache) use.

No idea what to do now though – lol!

Gangleri – which file is that taken from pls?

I’ve just downloaded the latest version of 2.3 and have these problems too. Tried all the suggestions but to no avail. I’m amazed WP still haven’t fixed it.

Where can I get an older more stable version of WP from?

I’m looking for that too. Have you tried modifying the comments.php file?

Search through the plugin directory, I can’t remember the name but there’s a great redirection plugin. Let me know if you can’t find it and I’ll have a look.

I had this problem and found that switching between ‘local host’ and the ‘actual ip address’ can help.

Me too but visiting the page for the first time, the size hits you in the face. Most people have 800 or 1024 screens. Maybe it’s just me.

Something’s wrong mate. The images are much bigger now, about 600 x 600 or even bigger and it took ages to download!

I’m sorry, I don’t know that but if mine doesn’t fit your 800 screen then the default must be 1024 as I didn’t change it.

There’s no harm downloading it and having a look at the CSS file. Alternatively, add some script on the index page to set it to 800.

teecup – I agree with doodlebee, SEO is hard work but absolutely essential. The various bots are becomming even more demanding and time/history is of significant importance. Don’t expect much to happen in the first 6 months if you have a new domain name.

doodlebee – how do you set your username to become a link?

That’s a difficult question to answer as there are so many good WordPress themes. I’m happy with mine but it might not suit you. See what you think at Gadget Blog

px does mean pixels. Try 10 or 11. Personally I find 12 too large. Look for your Stylesheet. It’ll be a .CSS file. Near the beginning it’ll say what the current body font size is. All you do is change the number and save the file.
