Hi,
the last days I get a very good support from Harish and Barry so I could solve my problem.

The cause for error 404 was a parallel installed and active other plugin named “Download Manager”.
When I deactivated them the error 404 disappeared but further I get no download but a navigation to a permalink like https://<domainname>/download/<id>/

This I could solve by re-saving the permalinks of wordpress.
The plugin contributor suspect the other plugin (Download Manager) “reserved” the download URL when it activated. Re-saving the permalinks allows WordPress to “re-calculate” what URLs are used for which functionality.

my problem was at the server side and it was solved by my hoster (1&1, germany) as promised.
Best regards.

On last Friday I get a call from 1&1, where thay told me, that I am right and they lock this commmand since a few days because some bots are active there.
As solution they offered an internal move to another server (I use a virtual Workspace, no root Access).
So I am waiting for this solution.

I hope so, because I enjoy this plugin, it’s the first backup-plugin which was running without Problems (V2.17) and has all basic features I need.
So I hope you will come back in some days with a new version but quality as before.
