Every plugin can be disabled by method described by mikas. While TTD is build in such way to ensure WordPress compatibility cases like this can occur in specific situations depending on the setup and complexity of your site.

Not sure if this is related to TTD. Sounds like permalinks problem (go to Settings, Save Permalinks)

I feel the plugin has too many options already is getting confusing for newbies. // is a standard and I am unable to do anything about it unfortunately (please have in mind that this is a free plugin and is quite big so I need to be able to maintain it effectively).
