so I close this again.

I installed the plugin again and now it seems to work again. Something I certainly do not understand happened but installing it again seemed to solve it.

I now tried to set the permalink setting back to the original setting I
had for the site. To my surprise, it still works to see yesterday’s and today’s
entries. I guess I will find out tomorrow if the publishing of the third entry
will again cause the 404-error or whether this toggling back and forth of permalink
settings cured the issue for the whole of the calendar.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply.

The site today uses ”Date and post-name” as permalink structure such as
https://ostbergakarate.se/2022/12/01/example/

For both of these URLs
https://ostbergakarate.se/1-december-2022/
https://ostbergakarate.se/2022/12/01/1-december-2022/

They both seem to redirect to this and that causes a 404-error.

https://ostbergakarate.se/advent-calendar/1-december-2022/

So I tried to change the permalink structure to be “post-name” such as
https://ostbergakarate.se/example/

After that change I revisit the calendar link to today’s post:
https://ostbergakarate.se/advent-calendar/1-december-2022/

And then that actually works!

So thanks for leading me in this way. However, I have the nagging feeling
that I did not really want to change the permalink structure of the website
to make the plugin work. Would it not be considered a bug in the plugin
that it somehow interferes with the permalink format?

I will need to think whetherI really want to do this change to the
site configuration just to use the plugin. On the positive side,
the change in permalink settingsseems not to break links to
earlier posts anyhow.

I would like to add video and text to the target page for each
day but I guessthat if I carefully read the existing instructions
for the plugin I can make that change.
