If I have understood your question, that should be possible in the free version.
Since we have done so, you can use WordPress filter hooks to change the way the field itself will be displayed through acf-vc.
If you have the latest version of acf-vc Integrator installed, you should be able to go to settings-> ACF-VC Integrator and then there should be a tab called hooks.
We have tried and wrote what filter hooks are available and the parameters that the different hooks accept.

I’ve just taken a look at your pictures and see that you are using the wrong WPBakery Page Builder element, the element that you need is called ACF VC Integrator.
The element you are using now it is an element included in the WPBakery Page Builder

I have just done some test with version 1.2.3 of acf-vc and version 5.4.7 of the wpbakery page builder.
And I could not reproduce the error.
Can I get you to describe the error a little more.
Can I get you a list of what plugins you have installed and the theme you are using
Do you have the opportunity to send a wordpress debug log?

It appears that the error is due to a bug in version 5.4.6 of the wpbakery page builder, they have just released a new version 5.4.7 ( https://codecanyon.net/item/visual-composer-page-builder-for-wordpress/242431/comments?page=917&filter=all#comment_18950502 ) if you experience issues in collaboration with the new version of the page builder.
Then you are welcome to write and I’ll take another look at it.

I’m glad to hear that there are some who ask for this feature. and I’m happy to let you know that we are adding a filter that will be included in the next version we publish.
Unfortunately, I do not have a precise date for when the next version comes but it should very soon be ready.
