In reply to: Units in Settings: Margin, Padding -> only px availableWhen I click, the dropdown opens and stays, I select a different unit than the preselected px but it jumps back to px and the dropdown closes. So, the dropdown works normal.

In reply to: Bold Formatting does not work although shown in source code syntaxHi,
thanks, of course:
Here’s the link to my test page: https://blog.gietl.earth/test-seite/
The sentence “This is to show that formatting does not work properly.” should look bold but does not.
The word “Bold” should look bold but does not.(The word “work” should look italic and it does.
The sentence “I guess this is a bug in WordPress.” should look italic and it does.)Greetings,
MariaHi Ana,
in fact it does not matter which block I’m using, setting different units than px does not work with groups, columns, at least.

In reply to: [Bricksy] CSS style “handwritten-alternative” not multi-lingual?Hi Ana,
I just found out that unfortunately, the above mentioned handwriting font (“Bestermind”) does neither support accents nor – much more important – German “Umlauts”.
The suggested option to make text as graphics is no reasonable option at all (and is not state-of-the-art), sorry that I have to say this.So it would be very helpful if you could offer a useful alternative to this font with one of your next updates?
Because the other handwritten font (Kristi) is not exactly the bee’s knees, IMHO.Greetings,

In reply to: [Bricksy] Child Theme -> does it make sense with this theme?Well, I used to be a webdesigner for 20yrs and I created websites from scratch, meaning “coding” them. I never liked WYSIWYG and I mainly hard-coded. So, I always had fully control over my source code, css, javascripts etc. If a color had to be changed I modified the css and that was it.
I guess thats why I think I’d maybe need a child theme: to have the utmost flexibility. But I also think that this is not the truth at all because on the other hand I’m no longer interested in all this web(design) stuff at that level I was used to in a professional way.
I just want to do my blog page, nicely and easily.(BTW: I first got involved with wordpress 13 years ago and created my own theme, but only for learning purposes (and in case a potential client would want it which fortunately never happened), to see how it worked back then. That was it until now.)
So, the conclusion and solution for this topic will be:
I don’t need a child theme for my Bricksy-Blog.Thanks for helping me to get clear about this ??

In reply to: [Bricksy] Bricksy: Duplicate Templates – Child Theme? Thanks, Ana.
I’m understanding now that e.g. your template “Front Page” is just created by different “pattern blocks”, so if I previously skipped some blocks of this template I can get them back later if I decide that I need them after all.
Slowly I’m getting to like this FSE stuff ??Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Bricksy] Bricksy: Duplicate Templates – Child Theme?Alright, I now understand, how this is working. So, the Front Page is built with different blocks which I have access to via the patterns options. This helps me already, thank you… ??

In reply to: [Bricksy] Parallex scrolling on mobile devices? Work-around?Hi Ana,
yes, thank’s, meanwhile I realized what it’s all about, this issue. And I’m even not sure right now if it’s good or bad. Maybe, on small devices it would be too much “noise” anyway, distracting from content, I don’t know…

In reply to: [Bricksy] Edit menus only in editor?Hi Ana,
thank you for solving the puzzle.
It confused me that the Aino FSE-Theme still has the old way of creating menus available. (I don’t have any significant experience with WP, neither before nor after Gutenberg…)
I already watched quite a range of videos explaining how to create menus in WP 5.9 TT2 but your recommended video is the best up to now, because there are some useful “side-tips” coming along with it, – thank’s for that one!Greetings,
Maria
