Good news today: It works!

1.) For what reasons ever It needs to be “all.css” instead of “fontawesome.css”:

get_template_directory_uri().'/fontawesome/css/all.css' );

2.) The access rights to the Fontawesome directory were set in the wrong way.

Either the one or the other reason or both caused this issue.

Deactivating WP-Optimize did not help, so I will contact the guys from Bricksy Theme, especially because I just realised that there has been a Theme Update as well 2 weeks ago…

thank you for your effort.
Unfortunately, as displayed in your screenshot, the dialog window where I can set e.g. Arial, was not displayed. I also don’t want to override my theme typography.
So, at the end, issue unsolved, but I am closing this thread for now, as the WordPress taxonomy is sufficient for me and I don’t really need the plugin urgently.

thank you for your hint. It’s better than before and this way it uses less space in my header but still it’s not what I really would like to have.
I’d rather like the Search to be minimalistic: there should only be the Search Icon displayed and the text field should only show up when I click on it.
As I understand from your documentation this is only possible with the above mentioned registered menu, is this correct?

Thanks for the hint with signing up to the newsletter. This never came up to my mind.

I did not change anythig in my .htaccess file since months and the last newsletter on Sept 5th worked fine…
Maybe an update from wordpress or the newsletter plugin changed that behavior?

Anyway:

I first switched the Newsletter/Setting/Advanced Tracking and Action Menu to ?Normal“ (I can’t remember that I ever had switched it to ?Advanced“) and now the newsletter works.
Hovering the links in the test-newsletter now does not show “/wp-admin/” anymore and everything works normally.

And: To enable the newsletter Sign-Up again I put the following lines into the webroot .htaccess file

#Allow access to admin-ajax.php without authentication
SetEnvIf Request_URI "^/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php$" allow_ajax
Order allow,deny
Allow from env=allow_ajax
Satisfy any

Now also the newsletter Sign-Up works again. Maybe this helps other users too.

unfortunately, the CSS does not work at all… it still looks ugly on mobile devices… I have no idea how to fix this…

Solved. It seems to be an issue with displaying the complete Part of “Media and Text” in Top Toolbar in the Editor. I need to uncheck “Top Toolbar” in Options -> View in order to get all the settings of “Media and Text” (align, replace etc.) displayed.
