In reply to: CC Attribution code inside of GPL theme – can it be?The Attribution 2.0 simplified, means that you can use it, and release it under anything you like (GPL, for example) as long as any derivative work attributes the original author.
For example, you create a theme, you note in the theme (source code comments, for example) that you used work from so and so. Then you release your theme under the GPL (or any other license you choose). However, anyone who creates a derivative work from your theme, must also credit the original author.
So in short, yes you may GPL your theme.

In reply to: WordPress Templates HelpI’m fully aware that it’s not generating a <h1>header text. I did it on purpose for reasons which I’m not going to go into here.
What I need is for you to help me with telling me whether the templates work in WORDPRESS or not. I’m rather behind when it comes to wordpress tags, and I’m worried that the ones I have are wrong.

In reply to: Designs / Layouts / Themes ListingNope. The template I have is not for download. There are thumbnails of the templates in the middle column for download, and also on the “linkware” page, there is a list of all of them.
I haven’t used 1.5, so I’m guessing they’re for 1.2 I’m a former WP user, but I’m pretty behind all the version numbers. That’s why I need help.

In reply to: First WP site and my first blog!well, it looks great – I’m just not a fan of internet-blue links – perhaps change them to the same shade of blue as in the graphics?

In reply to: redesign critiqueI see you got a design from Jenni, and then modified it for yourself.
I think my first impression is that it is a tad cramped and skinny – perhaps increase the padding a bit in places – particularly at the top? Other than that, not bad – you made the colours work.Forum: Your WordPress

In reply to: Shadowed Backgrounds/Containersyep, a repeating background-image is what you’re after. If you want it on three sides (or four, whatever) or you want one on the bottom, you’d use a footer div’ with a drop shadow image in it. same for a header.

In reply to: How to: Static link pagesthere is nothing wrong with LEARNING html/css from other people’s code. what’s wrong is just copy/pasting it onto your own website with minimal change.
while this is the internet, and there is always going to be theivery, it doesn’t mean that we should condone it when it is discovered. that just adds to the problem.
