I have received no new reports about this issue. Closing it.

There’s a bug in the javascript. I have a new version almost ready to go.

I’ve been working already on an update, I want to have it ready for this weekend.

There may be drafts or custom post types being processed. Keep me updated if the posts left count remains stuck or not, while I look at it.

Hm, maybe the server is slow and failing to complete the task. Do you have any very long post? Does uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin fix it?

I’ll have a look at the load and error management for the stats collection process.

Mmh, is the plugin updated to the last version? Does re-saving the post make the word count get updated?

Do the posts contain any special content, like shortcodes (stuff between square brackets []) or HTML entities (ampersand followed by the entity name then a semicolon: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_XML_and_HTML_character_entity_references), or are they only plain text and HTML? A link to the articles would be handy so I can look at them. Are all of them published?

Yeah I have to figure out how to deal with shortcodes, since strip_shortcodes doesn’t seem to do much, and just ignoring anything within square brackets would often ignore legit text.

Ok, try 4.2.1. Some posts had keywords saved incorrectly, without splitting and removing double quotes (“), they will be cached again, it might be slower than normal.

I reproduced the bug, working on the fix.

It’s not working in proper order yet, I pushed it to fix a bug. The aggregate stats will be available shortly.

Version 4.0.5 has been commited, see if it fixes the issue. Either resave the posts that weren’t counted, or uninstall the plugin completely and reinstall it again to force a new fresh recounting.
