I had the same problem that the Media Library is not showing images, neither it is uploading new images for setting them as featured image or anything.

My DB also updated to 4.2.1 but my problem is still there. When i select any image to upload in shows the revolving icon on top left which shows that it is uploading image but nothing happens.

I cannot access my media library which shows all of my previous images. It gives me a searching icon which keeps on revolving, but nothing happens.
