I see this was caused by us releasing a new FV Player version without really marking it as a new release on www.remarpro.com.

We occasionally do that when we need to push an update to fix some rare bug for one of our users. When that happens we give the user an alternative download link.

In this case we only needed to update the “Tested up to” tag in readme.txt and by updating that our version with the fix got public.

That’s the reason why Wordfence reports the change in the code.

Please just reinstall FV Player to get rid of that false warning.

I tried that on a video and I noticed no issues. The DropBox link with &raw=1 at the end would play fine in latest FV Player.

I checked the code changes since version 7.5.41.7212 and I did not notice anything that could cause this issue.

Are you using a shortcode like [fvplayer id=”1″] or is it with [fvplayer src=”https://www.dropbox.com/…mp4?rlkey=o3pkgjavnmz14dwga9owqr1ln&raw=1″%5D ?

In the upcoming FV Player 8 you will be able to choose if you want to use the full YouTube branding or the reduced YouTube branding which does not show that part.

First of all, Konstantin, thanks for the great and simple plugin. Of course our secound communication to you will be for a feature request to ensure WP Approve User does not stay simple.

That said, we’re keen to have an “Declined” category so we can keep a permanent record of spam registrations (bbPress) and never let them register again. Otherwise, we might have to process and delete the same spammer five times.

We’re working on a fork in GitHub (1. to auto-generate user passwords to allow us not to send login details to be a candidate user until approval 2. to detect if the sign-up is via a successful EDD purchase in which case there is auto-approval). We could do some work on a Declined category which would mean any comments or forum posts from previously declined candidates would result in a message

We thought of just sending the posts and comments of Declined Users straight to trash, but in the extremely rare case that a real user has been blocked, the error message gives him/her enough notice to attempt to contact the site publisher via a contact form (no direct link) or via Twitter or via email.

We’re open to other, better ideas on what to do with Declined Users. What we know for sure is that we’d like to keep a list of Declined Users, whether that’s in the main WordPress Users table or a dedicated table.

Sorry, Victoria, Easy WP SMTP is now terrible bloatware and an exploding advertising billboard in the WordPress interface.

High time that plugin takeovers with makeovers into adware should be delisted.

Long-winded excuses about new features don’t change the fact that your employer has taken one of the most useful free WordPress plugins and turned it into crippled commercial dross.

That’s weird, FV Player should run its Featured Image routines even on the first post save.

Please let us know if you published the post via the WordPress mobile app or any page builder. I wonder if using some of that could prevent the standard WordPress save_post action from running.

We changed that setting to be always on a while ago.

If you do not like the image which FV Player selected you can replace it with the image you like or you can remove the featured image. FV Player will then not set it for that post again.

Now we updated the documentation to not show that setting anymore, thank you for pointing it out.

It casted with the subtitles.

FV Player does not show an Optimize function when you enter fullscreen with your video. Please let me know what exact browser you are using. A screenshot would be great too.

Last time I checked our video at https://foliovision.com/ it played fine on Chromecast including the subtitles.

Did you run into any issues when trying to use the full FV Player LearnDash integration? https://foliovision.com/player/membership-ppv-elearning/elearning/learndash-progression-player

If you are unable to use that, do you mean the “Handle WordPress audio/video” setting? It does not have any finer control, at least not currently.

You explained that you don’t want FV Player to work for videos in LearnDash, please let us know where do you actually want it to work.

Currently you could only stop it with in your PHP display template:

remove_filter( 'wp_video_shortcode_override', 'fv_flowplayer_shortcode_video', 10, 4 );
remove_filter( 'the_content', 'fv_player_handle_youtube_links' );
remove_filter( 'embed_oembed_html', 'fv_player_handle_youtube_links' );

However that won’t work if you are using a block theme.

I wonder why the shortcode does not show properly in that LearnDash lesson content. Are you using any custom LearnDash theme or does your theme do anything special with LearnDash?

Thank you for your suggestions.

What’s good about the FV Player Pro video downloading system is that it’s not easy to share these video download links with other users. It also logs each video download if Simple History plugin is installed.

In FV Player Pro 8 we will show the download button under each video where it’s allowed automatically, even for playlists.

We are not noticing issues with FV Player setttings screen on websites with PHP 8.2.0.

So it would be still useful to see your actual PHP error log.
