In reply to: Tried to update WordPress and website blankThe password in the wp-config.php file is correct. I don’t see the username I use to sign into WP, but it does have the username for phpMyAdmin.
This same error message comes up when I am simply trying to access the site, which shouldn’t require a password.

In reply to: Tried to update WordPress and website blankOK, I did that, got this. (I’m sorry–I’m not a developer so I need a lot of hand-holding.)
Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user ‘rea0927408075625’@’97.74.24.88’ (using password: YES) in /home/content/92/5026492/html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1036

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at rea0927408075625.db.5026492.hostedresource.com. This could mean your host’s database server is down.Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Tried to update WordPress and website blankJust tried, no change.
Should I change the filename back or leave it changed?

In reply to: Tried to update WordPress and website blankDo you think crying will help? Profanity is getting me nowhere.

In reply to: Tried to update WordPress and website blankYes. I renamed the plugins folder plugins-hold and made a new empty plugins folder. All that’s left of my plugins at this point is Akismet (deactivated). I deleted the other two.

In reply to: Tried to update WordPress and website blankThanks @govpatel. Just tried, didn’t help. I have downloaded the upgrade four or five times now and uploaded it via FTP with no change. My pages are blank again now.
I’ve deleted wp-admin and wp-includes before uploading again. I tried leaving them and letting the new upload replace. I have re-uploaded all the files that aren’t in wp-admin and wp-includes. (Except wp-content) I renamed all other themes and re-uploaded TwentyTen.
Is there something else I need to do for a reinstall aside from upload the files? Someone else told me to then run domain/wp-admin/upgrade.php but I get a blank page with that, too.

In reply to: Tried to update WordPress and website blankI have had that same problem alternating with this error msg as I try the various fixes suggested.
Warning: require(/home/content/92/5026492/html/wp-includes/load.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/92/5026492/html/wp-settings.php on line 19
Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/content/92/5026492/html/wp-includes/load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php’) in /home/content/92/5026492/html/wp-settings.php on line 19
I’ve deactivated then deleted plug-ins, deleted and reloaded wp-admin and wp-includes, changed the name of my theme to force TwentyTen, deleted and reuploaded TwentyTen…I’ve done everything in File Manager and in FTP. I’ve used Chrome and IE. So far nothing has worked.

In reply to: Upgraded to 3.1 and can't access anythingDid you have any luck, esmedbol?
I did everything again via FTP rather than File Manager and I’m back to this:
Warning: require(/home/content/92/5026492/html/wp-includes/load.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/92/5026492/html/wp-settings.php on line 19
Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/content/92/5026492/html/wp-includes/load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php’) in /home/content/92/5026492/html/wp-settings.php on line 19
I’m not sure about checking where WP is on my domain. It appears that the path to login is https://www.readflyoveramerica.com/wp-login.php Does that sound right/possible?

In reply to: Upgraded to 3.1 and can't access anythingOK, thanks. I have now tried it all in that order except I wasn’t sure about the last step. Did some reading and did this:
Typed into my address bar https://www.readflyoveramerica.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php
Also tried https://www.readflyoveramerica.com/upgrade.php
Is that correct? Nothing happened with either.
Also I’m not sure about this: “”switching to the Twenty Ten theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides. You may need to try logging into your site to get this to kick in fully.”
I can’t log into my site because I don’t get anything when I try to access my log-in.

In reply to: post titles messy when accessed via permalinkI am finding that adding
