Well actually I made a lot of websites with MS FrontPage so microsoft does create websites and I have used WP since 2006 so ma somewhat familiar with it too. I do know what a theme is. And I finally found the thread where people were talking about the removal of the paste from word from the editor. Apparently tiny mce did this but it does not matter who did it, a good functionality is gone. The paste as text thing does not work like the old paste from word did. And it probably won’t be back. So end of discussion.

And here all this time I thought twenty ten was supplied by wordpress along with the basic tiny mce editor supplied by wordpress.
But according to you I am wrong.

David > don’t know if my replies to your emails came thru or not. The download in MP Lite does not work. When accessing the upload link, I get a 403 denied error. I am sure WPMU could allow us to test the digital download feature before purchasing the pro version. I have asked for this before and not received any satisfaction about it being fixed.

@cais > I had just downloaded the entire gallery folder from the old site and then FTP it back to the new site in the same position. After trying your import using the bottom panel, I got the first to import with the correct number of images. But the second gallery I tried I got doubled images and all my original names disappeared in favor of the exif data.

It appears to me that I should not be uploading any dynamic or thumbs folders and just let NGG rebuild them.

I think this is where some of my doubled images are coming from.

so restore my DB back to before any kind of import happened and start over. Good thing about db backups at the proper time, it allows for restore and retesting when I mess something up. By the time I do this a few more times, I may not mess up when I do the real thing.

Thanks for the help, progress is happening.

I have never moved a site with NGG so this has been a real learning experience.

@ Cais Not sure what you mean by import. And yes I used the export and import wp tools.

If by import, do you mean some setting or option in the ngg plugin settings?

@cais > I just tried the reset. As far as I can tell it did not do a thing. No galleries show up on the dashboard. I know the galleries are in the new site because I FTP them up to the correct location.

Yes!! Too much hurry. I am not used to having to mess with screen options. Interesting enough, on two other test beds, that option was apparently already on.

    My Bad!!
    Sorry for the trouble.

I have done two fresh installs of WP 3.9.1 and MP Lite. Both installs do not show the product categories on the theme menu options dashboard. The product options are in the db.

All my other tests were in DB that had WP upgrades from older versions.

My conclusion is MP Lite has an issue that needs to be fixed soon in a mtce release compatible with 3.9.1

RE suggested fix by wpdev member. It did not work. All buttons became add to cart even if the product had options and all add to cart buttons pointed to one product Silly Jelly which was added to the cart no matter which product button was pushed.

    Hi David,
Thanks for reply. The spacing issue is somewhat dependent on the theme. The link below is for twentyten. Portfolio WordPress Theme, socute free, virtue and weaver II are all a bit better at the spacing but still have the crowding issue sometimes at the bottom of the excerpt when that option is on. Weaver II shows two images for the first product on a category page or an individual page but that may be a theme setting for featured image. This may be wrong but I figured if the spacing was fixed in twentyten which is a rather small width theme, it would be better in other responsive type themes.

This is a good category to look at.
https://www.fly-fishing-colorado.com/shopcarts/store/products/category/floatants/ I am running show excerpts on. But in this category have very few actual excerpts in the excerpt field. From what I can see is the plugin uses an actual excerpt if one is available and uses so many words in the description if not. (A nice option would be to be able to set the number of words from the dashboard in presentations.) Alternatively I could go thru all my products and put something into the excerpt field or turn off that setting.

If you take a look around at some of the other category pages and some individual products, you can get a good idea about the spacing of Priced From > the label box when excerpts are turned on. Floatants is a good one to look at first.

Thanks for the reply. I will give it a try. When the category pages are shown the priced from is there. It only disappears on the in the individual product pages. Would be nice if your fix was made a part of the plugin update so priced from showed in related products period. And was styled so there was less space between priced from and choose option box. It looks to me like the choose option box height could be made the same size as add to cart if choose option was on one line. I assume this is CSS styling. I will see if I can find that.

Lastly is there a way to control how much text is displayed in the related description box or better yet, show now text and just images with prices.

@esmi I was thinking more along the lines of the paid plugins.

May software developers allow a free trial period with full access to the pro version which becomes totally disabled at the end of the trial period. Apparently this has not occurred to the wordpress plugin developers yet. Put a login to verify a temporary license key and then disable the key at the end of the trial period of the pro version.

    Re Free version 2.92.1 Categories
Apparently once a category is input, it cannot be changed for title, slug or anything else. I have tried deleting the categories and reinputting them in the way I want them, but that does not work either since the plugin is keeping track of indexes and not resetting the slugs or category indexes upon delete.

When I try free plugins such as this one or the woocommerce one and there are more problems than good stuff I surely won’t pay money for any pro version.

You need to think about how this makes wpmudev look when you put out a substandard free product and then come and ask for the big bucks for the pro version.

I did a fresh manual install last night of WP 3.9.1 and the upload path option under Settings > Media was grayed out. I think wordpress in their omniscient wisdom have stopped allowing FTP uploads because of this hot dog drag and drop browser uploader which is set to only upload to the wp-content/uploads folder. Into year and month if that option is set in media settings and into the general folder if not set.

I would wager a beer that FTP will upload 500 300 dpi 1100×720 images much faster than a browser uploader will do.

So now we can’t use any folder but the uploads and use the built in media calls for inserting into a post. Good thing tinymce advanced’s image install function still allows a correct install from a url.

I would like to use some 4 letter words and work is not one of them but not on the forum.
