The answer is: the opt out plugin does not add a tracking code. It only adds the code that is used to stop the tracking.

I guess what MonsterInsights is doing is to check if the Anyltics-ID is somewhere in the page, which is true because it’s needed to stop the tracking.

thanks for your comment. But I think it’s an issue on your end. It seems that the JavaScript file (that checks if the opt-out was already set and displays the banner) is not loaded on your site. Make sure you don’t have super aggressive cache settings active (or try to flush your cache after updating any plugins).

in version 2.3.0 you’ll be able to do the following:

add_filter( 'gaoop_info_icon_html', '__return_empty_string' );

anywhere in your functions.php or a plugin to remove the info icon. Instead of __return_empty_string you can use your own function and replace the icon with your own HTML code.

as stated on the description of the plugin: the PRO version has been merged into the FREE version a long time ago. So PRO = FREE.

Do you still have problems using the plugin or could you solve the issue already?

There is a “Show Editor Button” on the settings page of the plugin. Try to uncheck it. That should solve the issue.

the frontend.js file should load in the footer already. At least I’ve registered the script using wp_enqueue_script() where the in_footer parameter has been set to true.

I also set the file to defer which means that it should at least be executed after the page has been fully loaded.

Yes you can use the plugin on other post types as well. Just go to the settings page and select all the post types you want. Taxonomy pages are not supported.

Yes it does. Many customers are using it for exactly that reason (showing stars in search results).

Please note that it’s up to the search engines if they show the stars. A plugin can only integrate the right micro data (what the plugin does).
