@edward I do not have Authorize.net 2.0 as option in Wp Ecommerce.. Sorry I am not a professional on this. I would appreciate if you can write me the details.

all three Test Mode, CIM and Verify First Capture Later are unchecked (not used) and i did try with disabling shipping. The problem is still there.

I only use Authorize.net and using Gold Cart for WP e-commerce Version 2.9.4.
