For the benefit of others, I went into ‘other options’ and found that ‘Automatically resize images after upload’ option was set to ‘no’. Simple fix, just set it to ‘yes’ :)Now works fine.

Don’t know why it got changed to ‘no’ as I hadn’t touched anything and all my other gallery uploads previously were fine and auto resized. Assume it was after the upgrade that the default may be ‘no’.

I have found out that this was due to a file permissions issue.

Apologies esmi, I thought with it being the same issue it would help to keep them together.

Also to possibly help cspowers. I found that this is something to do with facebook restrictions.

If I sign into my facebook account and then revisit my website or others with the facebook share button, the huge white empty block doesn’t happen. I do hope it gets fixed by the powers that be further down the line though!

I’m getting the exact same problem as cspowers. Carbon copy.

It only does this when using Chrome for me. Firefox is fine.

It also does it when I’m on other websites with the social buttons. Literally just started to do this within the last few weeks.

I’ve got social sharing plugins on my wp site and get this huge white empty block for 20 or 30 seconds as cspowers mentions.

Anyone got any thoughts??? This is pickling my noodle!!

Yes it is one gallery of eight, not albums, my mistake.

I am using ‘shortcodes’ and as soon as you mentioned that I realised what the problem was likely to be, doh!

Not sure why but that particular shortcode had changed and added a template = “galleryview” to the string (< if that’s what it’s called).

After deleting that part of the shortcode, all is well.

Addition : My host disabled the customizr theme for me to get back in the site.

To wrap this thread up and to give the solution for anyone with a similar problem.

I contacted the plugin developer who gave me a simple bit of code to insert into the plugin css file. Specifically the img part of the file.

I simply downloaded and opened the plugins css file using notepad++. I then proceeded to overwrite the original code as guided by the developer. I then downloaded the new css file back to my host server. Make sure you make a copy of the original css file just in case something goes wrong and you need to start again.

No need for a reply. There is a recent plugin I’ve installed called JC coupons that is conflicting. When I deactivate the plugin, all goes back to normal.

I will get in touch with the plugin developer.

Found Quick Edit, never used that before..Strangely the ‘Allow comments’ box was ticked. I’ve un-ticked it and all is back to normal!!
