Thanks redellconsulting for taking the time to help me out, You made it very clear as to what I’m after even more so then I did. I’m not sure why I didn’t think of using wp-content instead of focusing on the child-theme directly. It’s makes complete sense now.

I got this idea from Lara Schenck a guest speaker at NYC WordPress meet-up. “crash course in child themes”

@ questas_admin, thanks for the suggestion that was my last resort the reason being I would like for my daughter to get familiar with the basic functions of wp-admin panel, but if she’s unable to complete the task after I send her the zip file of wp-content I guess I’ll be forced to use teamviewer to get her site up and running.

Thank you for responding I apologise for the late response I was way from my computer for the holidays. I’ll try to explain in detail what I’m hoping to accomplish.

I would like to customize a copy of the customizer child theme style.css, header.php, footer.php functions.php etc. So that I can send a pre-edited copy of child theme do my daughter so that all she should have to do is install the customizer parent theme as well as the child theme and activate it then her site should be pretty much pre-styled for her.

My only real problem is I was hoping I could add a few plugins to the child themes files so that when she installs the child theme the plugins would also install and all she would have to do is activate them.

If it’s not possible to include the plugins with a copy of the child theme is there away that when she activates the child theme it would then suggest she use the following plugins, page builder by siteorigin, W3 total Cache, WordPress SEO by yoast and a few more. I see themes occasionally suggest the use of certain plguins after the theme is activated, I was hoping to do something similar but using the child theme.

Hi again thanks for taking the time to help assist me.

Yes that was the parent theme running, for the time being I just switched themes until I can do some testing on my xampp server to see if I can locate the source of my problem. I’m positive it’s just something to do with my settings what I don’t have a clue so I will go back through my troubleshooting steps one by one and let you know the results.

As for anybody viewing this thread this is one great theme please don’t be discouraged by the issues I’m facing. I’m not abandoning this theme I’m just insuring it works 100% with my personal settings, I will switch back to this theme the second I get this working with my setting on my home server.

Step no.1, I will download and install a fresh version of WP ,
Step no.2, I will activate the theme with no plugins to see if I’m still getting the same results.

Conclusion: This will probably fix my problems as it’s the only thing I’ve yet to try. I have done everything short of installing a new version of WP, I’ve already tried disabling plugins etc, clear cache then disabled the w3 total cache plugin with no luck.

Well it’s been a big head ache trying to resolve this issue I guess I’ll have to abandon this theme to avoid having a stroke. Again thanks for the free theme it’s still a great theme in my opinion it just won’t work for me and me alone…

Thanks again for responding and I hate to be a pain in the “you know” but the child theme seems to be correct, it’s right out of the box, below is a screen shot of the childs style.css from within the admin panel editor.

This really puzzling me because for one “I seem to be the only person dealing with this issue”, two I have tried everything I can think of short of asking my magic 8-ball!

Again I have tested a fresh installation on my xampp stack and my paid server. I refuse to give up on this theme because in my opinion it’s one of the best themes out as far as simplicity of navigation and style.

I’m open to any suggestions. If the theme author or developers would like to take a peep at my admin panel and or cpanel feel free to ask…

I seem to be the only person with this issue so obliviously it’s not a theme bug but I’m fresh out of ideas, I’ve tried everything I can think of to fix this issue with no luck whatsoever. I tried with no plugins, I changed to 2010 default and made a child theme that worked fine, I even tried to make a new child theme for Luminescence Lite theme with just the style.css file and still the same exact results..

I’m close to having a small stroke, I hope someone can help me troubleshoot this issue.

Update;
I tested this on my localhost server with the same exact results, the theme had no customization made, I kept the default logo, the second I activated the child theme the theme broke in the same manner? I really need use of this theme and more importantly the child theme.

I’m not saying this is a theme related bug but I have no idea why this is happening to me on three different sites and two different servers?

Any ideas as to a possible fix I’m willing to try.

Hi thank you for responding, I have the theme on two site with the same results, I have made no custom css changes because I can’t get it to take effect, when I try to add custom CSS the style goes back to normal…

Any ideas I will include a screen shot.

I’m glad I read this before installing the plugin, I’ll have a look back in a month or so currently support does not seem to be very active..
Over two months and not one response from support as to a fix, yeap I made the right decision by not installing just yet!

I uderstand it’s a free version but most people including myself try out the free version before paying for a pro version! Just thought I’d mention that becasue if I do see support is active i normally purchase the pro vesion…
I hope you guys find a fix for this.

I updateed to the new beta version and the button works fine now, thanks for the new version!

I should of known better, I forgot I had w3 total chacha installed. That was the problem I disabled it and the child worded fine, I’m guessing it’s the css minify setting in w3 total cache I need to change anyways problem solved.

Update I fixed it well it fixed it’s self but I’ll take the credit! ?? Not sure why or how the following could of fixed it but it did, I added a second email in the email section and then re-sent a test email, it arrived just fine to the second email address but not the original email, so then I removed the second email and added the original email back in it’s place and it worked fine the test email arrived within seconds... Pretty odd behavior but at least it’s fixed and I can keep wordfence!

Thanks for the great free plugin it’s by far one of the best in the wordpress repository.

Update, I found it… Had it been a snake my a$$ would of been dead! I over looked it at least 20 times!

I truly doubt anyone else will be this blind but if so they can just search the obvious place first. Appearance >> Cstomize >> Content home,post and then scroll towards the bottom you will find it there.
