Sorry for the late answer, you can edit the code for remove the link on the date.
In the file history_timeline.php line 117 you found the link<a href=\"".get_bloginfo('url')."/tag/".$tag['slug']."/\">Just remove the a tag and the date will not be clickable.

This is a very strange error, I think it depends from other factor and not from a plug-in bug.
Seems more a problem of file encoding.
