This is a bug in the plugin. Others have already posted about it here. Updating to recent versions wont help. What you could do is to revert back to 12.6.10 using WP Rollback. Hope it helps

I managed to remove the category

find this code in entry-header.php

$show_categories = apply_filters( 'twentytwenty_show_categories_in_entry_header', true );

and change true to false
