OK… I got brave and changed the page name, when I updated the change the page name and therefore the nav menu name changed but the permalink remained as per the old name!!

Pays to take the leap sometimes!!

That’s sorted it! Cleared the W3TC Cache and it seems to be behaving now!

Thanks for the reply. It doesn’t seem to do anything but I think I should be directing this question to the Digital Raindrops guys as there are a lot of additional php files added through their tutorials… the culprit code will be in one of those somewhere!

I am loving WP as it enables me to create and edit pages/posts etc without getting involved too much in the html or css code.
I have used the html view on a page if, for instance, I want to change the colour of the font for a few words – however I have noticed that if you chop and change things in Visual mode e.g. add, delete and re-add an image, cut and paste to move paragraphs, it does seem to leave a legacy of code snippets such as the <div>

/%postname%/ generates the post/page URL as https://www.mydomain.com/whatevername/

If I want the reference to read https://www.mydomain.com/whatevername e.g. without the last slash can I alter the permalink to
/%postname%

or is there some coding protocol/need to have the last slash?

No. I chose the custom option and typed https://www.mydomain.com/blog it has been fine.
I have also reset it to read https://www.mydomain.com/art and it worked just fine

I have checked the permalinks at the top of each page in edit mode and they read ok e.g. home page https://www.mydomain.com/

but when I view the website my home page url becomes https://www.mydomain.com/t-shirts/windsor-design-2 (this is being stored somewhereand updated as there was a ‘1’ earlier)

Yes it’s set as https://www.mydomain.com/blog

It’s been fine until I added the 2 pages with T-Shirt page as parent today.

Read through the link to permalinks but nothing seems wrong.

I need to get braver about looking in unknown (to me) files – cleared the htaccess files and have now successfully moved the WP files and all is working.
