  • @jillianwp My apologies for the late reply. We were not receiving notifications. We just released version 3.0 which has an option in settings to show flowers first rather than trees. Thank you for the suggestion. Version 3.0 has a new elegant look. We will add your other ideas to future releases.

Thank you Stacey for letting us know about this. Glad the new update solves the issue. I added a line to check if the variable is null before trying to run the code.

    Hi @codeink,

Thanks for your post and sorry for the late reply. We will look into the problem and a solution. The code is needed and not sure why it would break your menu. Can you provide the error the comes up?

Thank you for letting us know!

    ————————-

Sorry for the slow response, WordPress does not notify us each time a support ticket is left.

It looks like the correct short code was not used. The correct short code is [obituaries]. Inside the plugin, on the Obituary Assistant settings menu, under the “Setup” heading, choose the name of the page you’ll be using in the drop down and click “Save Changes”.

Sorry for the slow response. Unfortunately, WordPress does not seem to give us updates when support tickets are left here.

We do have translations in place. You can translate any element you like as follows. When logged into your account, go to:

Main Menu >> Obituary Settings >> Language >> Select Language >> Change Default Translations

Your translations will automatically appear on your website.

    ——————-

    Good question.

You can do a 301 redirect (permanently moved) to our new obituary URLs but no, your current URLs would not be preserved. The 301 will point search engines and users to the new obituary URL using Obituary Assistant without negative effects.

Regarding the import you need, and a further discussion of redirects, please contact us on the FHW website and we can go over that with you. We seem to have an issue with getting notifications from this support forum.

    Thanks.

Apologies for the slow response. We field several inquiries from users and prospects every week including feature requests. Unfortunately, when we are contacted here at WordPress, we are not getting the messages. We are investigating as to why that is not happening.

What you are asking for is already built into our plugin and this has been a feature from the start. Obituary Assistant has a built-in flower storefront and the funeral home’s visitors never leave the site to make a purchase. The funeral home can select the local florist making the delivery and the flower order is transferred to the local florist. Yes, it’s all magic.

We do not have fax as an option to transmit orders to florists. We notify florists of orders by email, text, phone call or wire services. Our flower provider has been transmitting orders to local florists for over 20 years so this is a mature process and fully worked out. If your local florist will deliver, we will transmit the order to them in an efficient way and we’re confident fax is not needed to do that.

    Hi Eric,

    We are looking into this.

Due to the timing of this post though, I want to mention that a recent issue was introduced late last week when cPanel updated their cURL libraries to version 1.67.0 and this affected several of our clients. One of these clients reported the same error message that you are, but it was actually due to the change cPanel made, which is external to our service and plugin.

Downgrading cURL to version 1.66.0 will fix this issue, and cURL themselves are also now reporting the issue fixed on their github issues page here: https://github.com/curl/curl/issues/4624. I don’t know if cPanel has pushed out the patch to all of their users yet though.

Are you still having issues seeing your obituaries? If so, please email us at [email protected]

Yes, Obituary Assistant supports multiple sites and also multiple funeral home locations.

    Here is how that works.

If you have different domains (multiple sites), just install our plugin on each website.

If you have multiple funeral home locations served by a single site, create those locations on the back end and when adding an obituary you can select from those locations for each obituary.

Sorry for the slow response. This is a fully supported plugin and we respond quickly when people contact us at FHW Solutions but we’ve not been great monitoring questions here at WordPress but will do a better job of this.

Some of the older questions in this Support section are closed for comments but we will address them here.

Header Errors – this was fixed almost two years ago, sorry for not updating the thread here sooner.

Obituary Search – yes, that is in place and there is an obituary search box above the list of obituaries.

About paying for customization. No, we don’t accept payment for customization but Obituary Assistant has been made better over time by feature requests. We can’t guarantee we will accommodate every feature request but let us know what you’re wanting to see and we will certainly get back to you. Contacting us at the FHW Solutions website is a better way to reach us.

Thanks to all, Obituary Assistant is currently on over 100 funeral home websites.
