Hi @peter0013 ,
The “403 Forbidden. You don’t have permission to access this resource” error typically occurs if the staging site hasn’t been created properly or due to server permissions issues.
Quick Resolution:
- Verify if the staging site files exist on your server.
- Check your server’s file and folder permissions to ensure the staging folder is accessible (recommended: folders
755
, files644
).
If the issue persists, please contact us via our support form: WP Staging Support Form. Share the complete debug logs from wp-content/uploads/wp-staging/logs, and we’ll promptly investigate and assist you.
Looking forward to helping you!
Cheers!
FayyazHi @pputlitz ,
Thank you for reaching out to us and for using WP Staging! We truly appreciate your detailed explanation and understanding of the security measures you’re implementing. I’d be happy to clarify the points you raised and offer some guidance.
- License Usage: The staging site does not require an active license. You only need to keep the license active on the production site.
- Staging Site Location: WP Staging creates staging sites only within the same hosting and cPanel account. However, in your case, the?Backup and Restore?feature can act as a workaround. You can create a backup on the production site and restore it to the desired hosting account. For this process, an active license key is required. Here’s a guide to help you:
- How to Backup Your WordPress Site
- How to Restore Your WordPress Site
- If your policies allow, consolidating staging environments under the primary account could simplify the process.
- FTP/SFTP Configuration: While WP Staging doesn’t directly support FTP/SFTP connections for creating staging sites, the?Backup and Restore?feature provides solution for transferring environments securely.
We understand the importance of compliance and security for your operations. Using the migration feature to manually deploy backups to your staging environment ensures data integrity while adhering to your strict policies.
Since your query involves WP Staging Pro, our dedicated support team can assist you further. Please don’t hesitate to contact them for tailored guidance: Contact Support.
Cheers!

Hi @chrisesch ,
Thanks for your kind words! We’re glad you’re enjoying WP STAGING.
Yes, pushing the staging site to the live site is a Pro feature. The Pro version provides many additional benefits, such as:
- Push staging site to live with 1 click
- Backup & restore entire websites (cloud & local)
- Clone WordPress multisites
- Schedule automatic backups
- Exclude files, database tables, and directories while cloning or pushing
- Priority technical support
Since www.remarpro.com forum is meant for the free version only, for purchase-related questions, please contact our dedicated support team.
Looking forward to helping you there!
Cheers!
FayyazHi @gabiclayton ,
Yes, WP Staging PRO automatically fixes all links, URLs, and paths during the push process to ensure everything works correctly on the live site, including images, menus, and internal links.
Since your current staging site was created using Softaculous, you won’t be able to push it directly with WP Staging PRO. Instead, you can:
Use WP Staging PRO Backup & Restore
Use the backup feature to restore your current site to live, and WP Staging will handle the link updates during the process. Here is the workaround
- Create backup of the staging site https://quakervoicewa.org/gpstaged/ using WP Staging.
- Install and activate the WP Staging PRO on production site https://quakervoicewa.org/.
- Upload staging site’s backup on production site by using url upload feature.
- Restore the backup on production site.
- Here is the complete guide: https://wp-staging.com/docs/how-to-backup-and-restore-your-wordpress-website/.
In the future you can create staging site with WP Staging and continue using the Push Changes feature.
Let us know if you have further questions!
Cheers!
FayyazHi @heggyy ,
The notices and deprecated warnings you’re seeing on your staging site occur because the debug mode is enabled on your WordPress site. This mode displays all errors, notices, and warnings, which is typically helpful for development but can be distracting for regular use.
To resolve this, I recommend disabling the display of debug logs. You can do so by following the steps in this guide: Enable WordPress Debug Log Mode.
Simply set the
WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY
constant tofalse
in yourwp-config.php
file. This will hide the debug messages from displaying on your staging site while still logging them to the debug file, if necessary.Let me know if you need further assistance with this!
Cheers!
FayyazHi @jimiscaro ,
The issue has been addressed here WordPress support forum.
To clarify, restoring a backup on a new host is considered a migration because the server paths and configurations change. Unfortunately, this functionality is only supported in our WP Staging Pro version.
Alternatively, you can try other migration plugins for your specific needs. Feel free to contact us via our?support form?so we can assist further.
We’re here to help!

FayyazHi @jimiscaro ,
Thank you so much for your 5-star rating and for being a valued WP Staging user!
Restoring a backup to a new host, even with the same domain, is considered a migration because the paths and system differ. Unfortunately, this is only supported in our Pro version.
If you’d like, you can try using another migration plugin or feel free to contact us via our support form so we can assist further.
Cheers!
FayyazHi @pernille123 ,
Thank you for sharing the details. For multilingual sites like yours, it’s better to create the staging site on a subdomain (e.g.,
staging.luisafortuny.com
) or ensure that permalinks are activated properly. You should also see an orange admin bar on the staging site’s dashboard, which helps differentiate it from the production site. It’s looks like you have deleted the staging site or it’s redirecting to the production site.
For further assistance, please contact our dedicated support team via this form: WP Staging Support Form. We’ll be happy to assist you in resolving this issue!

FayyazHi @dougdee ,
I checked the staging site, and the login page is accessible at https://www.jenniferdonnelly.com/staging-site/wp-login.php and https://www.jenniferdonnelly.com/staging-site/. The URL you mentioned,
wpadmin
, seems to have a typo. Once logged in to the admin dashboard, the orange admin bar should appear. If the issue persists, please feel free to reach out to our support team via our dedicated support form. We’ll be happy to assist further!
Cheers!

Hi @tatianascolari ,
That’s correct! To make a particular staging site publicly accessible, you’ll need to adjust the settings on the staging site. You can follow the steps in this guide for detailed instructions: How to Make a Staging Site Publicly Accessible.
