Hi @ydderf1 ,
Thank you for reaching out.
I recommend using WP Staging PRO to create a staging site on a subdomain. This option offers additional features for development, maintenance, backup, and restore, and Elementor licenses are not counted on subdomains like
staging.mysite.com
. Here’s the guide: WP Staging with Elementor.Alternatively, to comply with Elementor’s license policy, I suggest switching the Elementor Pro license from your production site to the staging site. You can follow this tutorial for guidance: Switch Elementor License.
Let me know if you need any further assistance!
Cheers!
FayyazHi @marcsdn ,
Your staging site has been successfully created and is available at https://www.littleasia.jp/wordpress/new-la/. To access the content, you’ll need to log in to the staging site. This additional authentication layer ensures that your staging site remains private and prevents it from being indexed by search engines or accessed by the public.
Feel free to share the information fi you have issues other than that.

FayyazHi @luckyapril2024 ,
Thank you for sharing the debug logs with our dedicated support email. Upon review, it appears the process is being interrupted due to incorrect directory permissions. The
uploads/wpforms/
directory does not have the necessary permissions. You can either exclude thewpforms
directory while creating the staging site or change the directory permissions to resolve the issue.Cheers,
FayyazHi @inferotraining ,

Hi @boomerangz ,
Thank you for your patience. I have confirmed that the restore process in WP Staging is indeed designed to delete existing files before adding new ones from the backup. If you prefer to keep the existing files, you can use the filter available here: WP Staging Actions and Filters.
We apologize for any confusion caused, and we’ll be updating our popup message to clarify this behavior. If you encounter any issues or if the process doesn’t work as expected, please contact our support team through our dedicated support form, and we’ll assist you promptly.

FayyazHi @boomerangz ,
To perform a full restore that replaces all current files with those from the backup, including deleting any existing files, you will need to manually delete the files in your
wp-content
directory before initiating the restore. WP Staging’s current process adds files, so removing existing ones ensures only the backed-up versions are present.Always ensure you have a recent backup before proceeding with such actions.
For detailed guidance, you may reach out through our support form.

In reply to: [WP STAGING WordPress Backup Plugin - Migration Backup Restore] Great supportThank you very much for your kind words and suggestion, @ezekielion. I’ve already forwarded it to our development team, and we will address it promptly. Additionally, I recommend using the delete feature from the action dropdown, as manually deleting a staging site may leave orphan tables or data behind.
Thank you again for your honest review.
