I’m using Woocommerce (as in made by Woocommerce) PayPal Pro Hosted 1.0.13

Hi Hannah, sorry slow response, I didn’t get a notification email regarding your reply.
I’m using Woocommerce PayPal Pro Hosted.
Staging site would be no good as I can’t replicate the error at this end – it works fine for me under every scenario.

It’s affecting random customers
Registered users, guest check outs, desktop, laptop, mobile orders, mac, PC, Chrome, Firefox, Safari…
BUT it’s also doesn’t affect any of the above either.
I can’t pin it down to any one thing.

Out of say 20 orders, 1 or 2 will randomly hang.

Frustrating!

It’s still happening.

I usually wait a week or so and everythign seems to catch up but this one bit me!

Hi, looks like the problem lay with Woocommerce 3.2 as the 3.2.4. update released this weekend seems to have (so far) fixed whatever was causing it.

Note to self: A week isn’t long enough, wait at least a month, before installing any major Woocommerce release – they’re always riddled with issues. This time it really hurt!

Nope, sadly there has been no progress at all.
Yes, Cart, Checkout and Account are all excluded from cache.

There’s no rhyme or reason as to when it happens.
I’ve looked at:
Browser
Device (desktop, PC, Mac, IOS, Android)
Existing Customer or Guest Checkout
Number of items in cart
Even their locality!

There’s no discernible pattern; some work with any of the above, some fail with any of the above. As you point out, you’d expect this to be all or none. Argh!!

I’ve wondered whether it could be a user browser cache or cookie thing?

Cloudflare now set to omit all the cart/checkout pages and purged but still happening. (although I’ve actually been using Cloudflare for about a year without issue) This started happening when I did the Woocommerce update and, coincidentally, my host upgraded servers.

Hosting was my first port of call as there was initially an issue with 404’s on my cart pages – new server wasn’t reading my .htaccess file correctly.
Naturally that’s where I went first but hosting are adamant it’s not server related?

I started using WP Super Cache *after* the issues first arose.
Omitted the cart pages – error persisted
Have now removed the plugin – error persists

Hi, I’m still getting failed orders with this error.
Customers fill in their details, click the payment button which is when the “please wait a second’ dialog pops up and spins forever and ever and ever. Can’t pin it down to browser/device/payment method (ie PayPal or Card) – it happens across all or none.

It can be done. When support from the old author was discontinued I spent a lot of time adapting the template for use with S3 Label sheets. A4 with peel off delivery labels.https://images.esellerpro.com/2477/I/291/228/LABEL-SINGLE-C-0.jpg
I have 3 set up:
– my own store which is 1st Class postage,
– eBay store 2nd Class postage
– and use Invoices for when I ship and invoice a company.

The label section prints with the correct postage artwork for each store and loads different information into different sections of the template depending on whether it’s my site, eBay or Invoices. On one, my logo is displayed, another it isn’t. Terms and information differ.

Invoices loads my payment terms and bank details along with order notes.
To make better use of space, I’ve shortened the ‘dead’ space to the right of Order Details to display Customer Order Notes or Payment terms.

I have also changed the buttons & names on my admin screen to make it easy printing eg ‘Receipt’ is now called eBay.

I tried to create a 4th variation but couldn’t make it work so gave up!

But since the update to the plugin and the php functions and hooks changing it’s a total nightmare trying to figure out how to recreate what I’ve done! I’m not a coder, just a designer with determination and a lot of trial end error! So I’m still using the old version which is think is causing performance issues, but I’m so reliant on the functionality I can’t afford to change.
