I just tried the new version and it does not work still. Now the PayPal button results in a new window popup that shows a spinning lock, but PayPal content never comes up. Venmo and “Debit or Credit Card” buttons do nothing.
Also on confirmation screen, additional donation shows under “Payment amount”. That is misleading, would be better to call it “Donation Amount”
I tried creating a new event and a new form for this test. Regular, non-event PayPal payments work fine.
