I’ve seen a few people who were having this problem, hopefully they find their way here because this is a perfect fix.

Hey, thanks for the reply – in the end I found a fix that involved editing the php files. Seems the “ghost” slug doesn’t get trashed here.

I can’t remember exactly there I found the instructions, but it’s briefly detailed here.
