Of course, if I am incorrect about this then please do let me know.
Yes, I have WooCommerce set to accept prices including tax – which it does on the front-end. However, according to the WooCommerce developers line prices on orders can only be set excluding tax – this is fixed by WooCommerce and no setting allows this to be changed.
Do you see what the issue is?You can see the image here: https://ibb.co/JcpLwF0
The box in red is where the line item price goes and it has to be excluding tax (and WooCommerce forums are clear that this is intentional and there is no way to switch this field to be including tax).
When orders come in via the front-end from customers, this works fine as woocommerce does all of the calculations assuming the price to be including tax. However, when it is recalculated by modifying the Uni-CPO options from the admin area, the price is recalculated including tax and puts it in the red box. This means that the price then has to be manually converted to be excluding tax, otherwise the final price is to high.
Does this make more sense?Hi,
The process is the same – the item price must be entered exclusive of tax.
The prices must be inclusive of tax on the front-end so that the price is displayed to the customer inclusive of tax, but the admin area expects prices exclusive of tax.The issue is that the plugin calculates prices inclusive of tax in both cases.
Many thanks,
EwanHi,
Thanks for pointing out the potential caching issue – I will look to investigate this further.
However, I am disappointed by your lack of professionalism in supporting me. I have not once accused you or your plugin of anything. I have simply stated what my website appears to be doing. Given that it is only data from your plugin that is affected, it is unsurprising that I would come here looking for help with this matter.
Simply suggesting what you thought might be the issue would have been sufficient and polite – especially as you have no actual proof that your explanation is the true cause.
Many thanks,
EwanHi,
It is difficult for me to give steps to reproduce the error as none of my customers have been able to describle the cause and I can only see the result.
As there is no logging built into this plugin (as far as I can see) or any of the others on my site, there is little way for me to track down the exact cause of the error – but I do know that the other parts of the order remain intact whilst the data stored by your plugin is the bit that gets mixed up.
I was under the impression that caching of order information (or abandoned cart data) was part of the WooCommerce/WordPress core so surely that would affect other people?
Many thanks,
EwanHi,
Is there any plan to ensure that product add-ons are supported?
Product add-ons are the only way to achieve my requirements but this means that I cannot use your plugin. Also, I found this out by surprise when a customer managed to order a product with no product addons and a price of £0.00 – bit of an embarrasing call…
Could you make this more clear on your plugin info like other developers – maybe an “Issues supporting other plugins” section in the FAQ.Many thanks,
Ewan
