In reply to: Everything is gone – I’m freaking out.Moshu – Through Filezilla I went into the directory and gutted the wp-admin folder and the wp-content folder. I replaced the files within with the upgraded WP folders and files. Then I dragged over the files from the WP upgrade that began with index.php and ended with the xlmrpc.php. When I attempt to access my admin it now offers to create a new configuration file.
This is what I am working on now.

In reply to: Everything is gone – I’m freaking out.Moshu – I gutted the files and refilled them with the new contents of the upgraded admin and content file. Then I dragged over the new single files that included the load.php file that was missing.
I do have a back-up – but my computer will not open it – it says its blocked for my protection. I am working on unblocking it.

In reply to: Everything is gone – I’m freaking out. Thanks whoo – nothing has changed but I feel like I’m headed in the right direction. I need to create a config file, but I’m having trouble coming up with a database name. I’m calling Blue Host to see if I can get some help.

In reply to: Sidebar appearing at bottom in IEThere can be many reasons why sidebars end up at the bottom of a site. On my site I found the stats counter was the culprit. We’ve also found posts that creeped into the sidebars distorting things – and then validation is important, the smallest things can screw everything up.
Make sure you dissect your sidebar and put things back one at a time, you can find wayward code that way as well.
By the way, after spending hours reading the docs and support posts here – what a bunch of angst-ridden moderators troll this place. Insults, backhanded advice, petty condescension and flippant comments are the norm. If you guys are unhappy, do us all a favor – shut the computer off and drink yourself to sleep. I must have read 50 posts where Moshu or Whooami just tee off on people – WTF? When I started using WordPress I made some stupid mistakes, but it was no fun coming in here to learn from them – too much insecurity here. People who get their thrills cutting down newbies are a sorry bunch…

In reply to: Footer is Stretched, Sidebar is at page bottom in IEMy website had that issue, too. The right sidebar was tucked under the left sidebar when you viewed my blog in IE. The problem? My statcounter!
We use hi- stat, and bringing it over from blogger it screwed things up.
We found this by taking off things in the right sidebar until the website straightened out.

In reply to: Category Post CountsThanks Joyce – your input pushed me along to the answer. I went out and found a theme that had numbered categories, copied the code and pasted it into the spot where the undesired code was. I went to the style sheet and changed the display to ‘inline’ and it worked!
Problem solved!
Thanks!

I’m misunderstanding that answer. I did the what Alakhnor said and the category numbers still come out underneath the words…
