Well, as soon as I’ve cloned the active Connection and then edited it to change the status, I already have what I’m looking for, so cloning that would be redundant. And I would still have duplicate Connections for a time before I could change the status of the first clone. And creating deactivated Connections to clone later seems cumbersome and complicated. Having a feature where you can have the default state being Off seems to make a lot more sense.

    Hi Nikola,

Thanks for getting back to me. I had forgotten about that setting, however it is already unchecked. Autoreservation is also unchecked, since my client wants to approve all appointments before they are confirmed. Would autoreservation make a difference?

    Thx.

Thank you Nikola. It works beautifully now.

HOWEVER – VERY IMPORTANT: Anyone updating should be aware that THIS WILL CHANGE THE DATES OF ALREADY-SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS.

In other words, if I create appointments for say the 10th, 11th and 12th of a month, using the old the old method I would have to block out days 9 through 13. In the new method I only have to block out 10 through 13 **BUT** after the update any existing connections will have to be updated, since there will now be appointments on the 9th and 13th as well. Since the old method meant we didn’t want appointments on the 9th or 13th, this can lead to a lot of confusion.

I don’t know if it’s possible to change the plugin so that it only applies to new connections that are created, but if that can be done quickly then it could avoid a lot of confusion.

Oops! Sorry, I think I posted my comment in the wrong thread. I can’t seem to delete it here, so I’ll just add it again to the correct thread.

And thank you for fixing the editor problem! ??

That’s pretty creepy too. In my case it was definitely still listed in my plugins list and the menu still in the sidebar. It does seem like something weird is going on.

I’d rather send you the link privately. I’m using Firefox 48.0.2, but I just tried it on IE 11 and I’m seeing it there too. It seems to happen when I have a day open and viewing the day’s time slots, then I try to switch to a different service.

For example: I have it set up so that only Service #1 is scheduled for Fridays, and Service #2 is scheduled for other days of the week (Wednesday and Saturday). But when I’m viewing Service 1 on a Friday, with the time slot area open for that day, and then I switch the dropdown to Service 2, it should either close that Friday’s time slots area or else show the message “Pick another day” (since Service 2 is not offered on Fridays).

The fact that there is no change in the calendar grid after I’ve switched to Service 2 (it’s still showing Service 1’s time slot on the Friday), means the calendar grid does not always update when you select a different service.

The problem doesn’t happen all the time. I think it might happen only when viewing the time slots for one service and then you switch to a different service. It might also happen more/only for days with no available time slots or with time slots still available (not sure about that). But it does seem to happen when a day’s time slots are open for viewing.

I hope that makes sense. If you still need the link, can you please tell me where I can forward it to you? Thanks.

    Hi again,

    As for the styling request:
Here’s how it appears now (and I hope I’m right about interpreting the colours):

NOTHING SCHEDULED, PRIOR TO CURRENT DATE:
    Grey number on white background.

    NOTHING SCHEDULED, “TODAY” OR LATER:
White number on dark grey background.

    SLOT SCHEDULED, ALL APPTS TAKEN:
    White number on red background.

    SLOT SCHEDULED, APPT STILL AVAILABLE:
Blue number on a white background.

SLOT AVAILABLE, DATE CLICKED TO SEE TIME SLOTS:
    White number on blue background.

    TIME SLOT AVAILABLE:
Black numbers in dark grey square, against larger light grey background.

    TIME SLOT NOT AVAILABLE:
Black numbers in white square, against larger light grey background.

I would like to have the ability to select number and background colours for each of these possibilities. Personally, I find having a dark grey background for potential days (on or after current date) a bit confusing because it looks like they should be available; they stand out when compared to the past-date squares in the white backgrounds. My client is only making 2 or 3 days per week available, so the grey squares versus the white squares seems a bit confusing.

I would like the option to make all unavailable days, past or future, the same style. That way an available day will stand out more since it will be surrounded by white squares. I would also like the option to make the available days white numbers on blue background by default (like they are now if you click on it). Maybe have a darker shade of blue background when the person clicks on it, so that it won’t be confused with other available dates.

The red background for days when there are slots but all are taken, also is a bit confusing, since it looks like it should be a date that stands out and the viewer should take notice. But this is the opposite of what you want. I think you chose red, like a red traffic light, meaning “stop, you can’t go here” but I think it has the opposite effect.

I would rather see black numbers on a white background for all non-available dates, white numbers on blue for available dates, and maybe grey numbers on white for dates that have been taken.

Anyway, does that make more sense? ??

    Thanks,
    Wendy

    Hi Nikola,

Yes, there’s the option to show the appointments as AM/PM to the visitor, but on the back end (under Connections) it is only offered in 24-hr mode. This is confusing to my client (and would be to me as well if I was using it regularly).

(I’ll explain the rest in a separate post.)
