In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] wrong short url“Several of our users wanted to share full URLs instead of short links when working with Publicize.”
We use bit.ly to shorten links from a handful of sites and monitor link activity for everything through that account. In conjunction, Publicize and WP Bit.ly made a perfect pairing. Everything on the blogs posted automatically to social networks, and we were able to post content from other non-blog sites using our shortlinks, maintaining a uniform look in our feed. It was a nice setup.
If Publicize really plans to use only full URLs moving forward, I’ll be switching to SNAP too, I guess.

In reply to: [New User Approve] Conflicts with CIMY USer Extra FieldsI know I’m adding this long after the fact, but in case anyone leafs through with a similar problem, I can confirm the same experience: A user attempts to register; the admin email is sent; no pending approvals appear in the users table, so, no ability to approve new registrants. I’m also running CIMY User Extra Fields.

In reply to: Separate Theme for IE6songdogtech provides some good advice. This is how I’ve handled IE6 in the past as well until I stopped worrying about it. Writing conditionals can be a pain depending on what you’re doing.
Really, I think people should stop catering to users still on IE6 and just let the damn thing die already.

In reply to: Track Changes to Theme FilesJust in case anyone stumbles across this, I ended up finding a program called WordPress File Monitor.
I’m still trying to determine how useful it is, but under certain circumstances, I’m sure it’s probably at least worth an install.

In reply to: [Plugin: User Photo] user photo with fixed widthThanks for posting this. It works really well, for the most part.
I was just wondering if you’d come across a similar problem as I have.
It looks like after I add this code (or change the dimension settings) that only photos uploaded after implementing the change are affected. Photos that were already in the system still display at the same size as always within the template.
Do you know if it might be possible to remedy this?
Thanks again for your post.
