In reply to: Disable Appearance Options & EffectsYou may ultimately need to edit a theme that has no such options for customizing from the Admin panel. Try the Live Music theme, unless you need to use the Custom Menu function.

In reply to: Disable Appearance Options & EffectsYou have to read the Twenty Ten CSS page very carefully as the CSS stylings for the body are split up and come body settings are lumped in with dozens of other settings that the author wanted to be exactly the same as the body setting.

In reply to: Page content loading, but not WordPressOkay … I got it figured out … something I never would have expected …
I was saving the table as an HTML page with the same name in the root directory: https://www.mikesbiggestbattle.com/generals.html
I never would have expected that my hosting server would wordpress would somehow seek out the html page when WP was supposed to be pointing to the WP Page.
When I moved the page to out of the root an into a couple levels of folder, it all settled down and works perfectly again.
Thanks, Voodoo!

In reply to: Page content loading, but not WordPressI just double checked and there’s nothing extra … just the table …

In reply to: Page content loading, but not WordPressNo … I do it as a copy and paste into the editor from Dreamweaver. But I’ve done that all the time in the past and it never caused a problem before.
And please note that it will work, for X number of page loads/calls from the browser and then *POOF*
The only way to correct the problem I’ve found is to change the page name (even deleting it and recreating it with the same name won’t fix the issue).

In reply to: Fatal Error in WP3.0Not meaning to sound condescending, but did you follow all the steps. It is a multi-step process that involves editing your .htaccess file as well as everything else that you need to do to get multisite functionality up.

In reply to: Post title vs page titleummmm … well … loop.php is how WP intends to move forward, or at least that’s my understanding from what I read in this:
https://westi.wordpress.com/2010/05/03/themes-and-wordpress-3-0-some-important-changes/
Based on this, it looks like WP will be phasing out the pre-2.9 style of separate pages for everything that is in the loop and we’ll all eventually be using “one of those themes” … :~)

In reply to: Post title vs page titleThere is no code in my page.php for a title. Leaving the code in for a Post title in loop.php puts a Page title up anyway.

In reply to: how to “jump” lower down within the same post?Hey! Does anyone know if it is possible to use this to create a dropdown menu so that you can jump to one of these page links from another page?
In other words, I am on the landing page for a WP powered website and I want to go to one of these specific page links via a dropdown from a main menu tab.
I am using WP3.0.1.
Thanks!

In reply to: Theme developer forum for WP3I am in the same boat as Paula, especially since it appears that we will be required to make themes that support more than one menu.

In reply to: Multi-site vs multi-blogActually, the two of you have covered both meanings of my question, one intended and one unintended.

In reply to: Excluding sticky posts using query_posts()It seems as if this functionality should be coded into 2.9, but it seems that perhaps not as I am getting the Sticky Post showing up in my sidebar when I use the Recent Posts widget.
So, where do I plug this code in to get it to keep the Sticky Post from showing up in my sidebar?

In reply to: MiniMU – all kinds of strangenessHi Eric,
Actually, the only way I can get your plug in to work is to have a separate installation of WP in each subdomain. And even then, I have to work with each blog’s separate admin panel to edit posts, etc.
Is this what you intended?
Pointing all the blogs at mydomain.com just causes the most recently added blog to show its posts below the main blog posts.
I think I may just have to try to tame WPMU because no one has made a plug-in that truly allowed you to run multiple blogs off a single installation of WP since the Multiply plug-in.

In reply to: [Plugin: MiniMU] QuestionsUpgrade to v0.3.1 worked perfectly. I will be testing what we’ve discussed here.
Thanks!
