You’re right. I was being lazy and hoping the webp would do that for me! I will resize it. I do SEO agency work so I will be installing your plugin on my clients sites too. Great tool. Good work and thanks for the prompt response.

By the way I just ran it through web.dev and it is no longer telling me I need to change the images to webp so it must have worked! Great tool by the way and much easier than others I had tried. I will go and give you a good review but I would still appreciate an answer to the above for my own reference. Thank you.

Thanks for that. I had done nothing differently but I was reading the site code which as you said still said png. I still feel that the images are slow to load. In particular the hero image on this page. https://sitehustle.com.au/about/
