EDIT: I just tried recreating the problem by adding [products limit=”4”] to my home page.

It listed 60 items, rather than the requested four.

No error log was generated from this.

The best way to determine this is to:

Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
Repeat the action that is causing the problem

I did that. The problem persists.

It’s a problem with the Woocommerce core plugin. The problem started with the update to version 4.9.

As of version 4.9.2, the problem is still there.

Changing double quotes to single quotes makes no difference and produces exactly the same results.

I copied and pasted each of your shortcodes above with no editing or changes.

The first one that you suggested displayed 7 rows of 4 items each – 28 items total.
The second one that you suggested displayed 7 rows of 4 items each – 28 items total.

This was working correctly until the recent update to WC 4.9.

SHORT VERSION: The code above appears to work.

I was having the same problem and just happened to stumble upon this thread.

I’m also using Advanced Dynamic Pricing for Woocommerce along with the Yith Woocommerce Gift Cards plugin.

Earlier today, someone bought a $400 item on my Website and applied THREE different $50 gift cards to the purchase, which should have dropped the total amount owed at checkout to $250.

Woocommerce correctly showed that the three cards were applied to the purchase, but then did not subtract the $150 in gift cards from the total price.

It showed that the customer still owed $400, but in the YITH Gift Cards dashboard, the three gift cards that the customer used at checkout all showed a balance of $0.

So the value of the gift cards was correctly deducted from the card balance, as though the cards had been used, but that amount was not deducted from the purchase price at checkout.

The customer, understandably confused, paid in full and I manually refunded $150 to them…

…and then did a Web search and found this post.

I added the suggested code above to my functions.php file and did a single test, buying a $10 gift card and then making a purchase of an item that was discounted from $4 to $3 by the Advanced Dynamic Pricing for Woocommerce Plugin.

I entered the gift card code at checkout.

The transaction went through properly, with the amount of the purchase properly deducted from the gift card.

As the value of the test gift card ($10) exceeded the price of the item being purchased ($3), the test buyer was not asked to pay and the total purchase price was fully deducted from the gift card balance.

Examining the order in my order dashboard, the item shows as being paid in full via the gift card alone. In the YITH Gift Cards dashboard, the gift card shows a remaining balance that correctly reflects the amount deducted for the test purchase.

All good; the code above seems to work.

As I have reverted to the PayPal standard plugin for the time being, the status report that I included with that support request may not be accurate.

Creating a duplicate site is difficult, due to the size of the database involved.

I’ll see if I can come up with something tomorrow.

Since reverting to the PayPal Standard plugin, the PayPal buttons have reappeared on the pages for the products that didn’t have them before.

I don’t know what the problem might be, but it’s clearly specific to the Woocommerce PayPal Payments plugin.

For now, I have had to disable this plugin and revert to the PayPal Standard/PayPal Checkout plugin on my site, as I’m having other problems with this plugin that are preventing my customers from completing their transaction.

I am interested in what happens if you duplicate the product. Does the duplucate show the same behavior?

Yes. Duplicating a product duplicates the problem.

I disabled all plugins except Woocommerce and PayPal Payments.

That did not fix the problem.

I don’t know how many products have this problem, as I have nearly 1200 products on the site and as far as I know, the only way to tell is to look at them individually as a site visitor would. This would take a really long time.

It might be a few. It might be hundreds.

I installed the “Enable jQuery Migrate Helper” plugin, and again clicked to dismiss the notice, but it sell appears.

EDIT: I was seeing the error in Firefox, which is my preferred browser. I logged into my site using Edge, and still saw the message, but when I clicked to dismiss it, it went away.

Once it was gone in Edge, it was also gone in Firefox. This was without using the plugin, by the way.

All good. I’ll make note of this, as this is not the first time I’ve encountered this sort of problem.

Very strange – the suggestion to update the database field to “actioned” did not make the message go away.

The plugin offered at Github, which was supposed to do the very same thing, DID make the message go away.

Odd…but in my case, it’s fixed.

I’ve tried the fix with Woocommerce 4.2.2 and while the database shows that field as “actioned,” the message still appears.

I have upgraded to version 2.0.2 and everything seems to be working properly.

I had the same problem; people were complaining that they couldn’t check out because there was nothing to click on to complete the transaction.

Sure enough, testing showed that the PayPal button was missing.

I can’t post Woocommerce status here, as my site broke while trying to revert to version 1.6.21 and I ended up having to restore my site to an earlier time from backup.

But yes – 2.0.1 caused my PayPal button to not appear. It didn’t do that for everyone, however, as I did make at least one sale during the time I had that version of the plugin installed.
