Hi Esmi.. I feel REALLY stupid. None of your fixes worked and I messed up the security settings (i stupidly clicked the button that changed them in all the subfoldres / files).

Sooooo I called my host and asked for a backup roll back to fix that mess. And after he did that we talked and it turns out I had runnout of space on the hosting package! So no more room for images.

So.. I get to redo a weeks work as penance for not looking at the simple things first.

Thanks for that I changed the permissions via ftp and still no change.

I tried using ftp to upload directly and the transfers failed also. Does anyone have any ideas?

for me its at the VERY bottom of the edit page screen.. BUT it might still be something that my theme has added, I’m not sure.

I have a “hide footer” tick box at the very bottom of the page editing page (through the standard dashboard) I don’t know if that is a theme function or not as I always use the same theme (it may well be). But its not in the theme settings its just in the edit page screen.

have you clicked a “hide footer” button anywhere?

using fantastico you just floow through the wizard without changing anything and leave the folder name blank (I think its says something about installing wordpress in the root directory, or words to that effect)

ok its getting even weirder.. I just did a random couple of letters and THAT version of the page loaded, but as soon as I put any actual content in it doesnt…

nerver mind. . I just deleted the “blog title” form the “general” tab…

The first thing in the style.css is “Dont make changes here , or you’ll lose them in an upgrade” So I was trying to follow those directions and use the custom.css instead.

How often do wordpress upgrade? Is that an issue really to have to redo things in there each time? I guess if you keep a record of the colour code it only takes a few seconds…
