Interesting idea Igor. You suggest I spend $60 just to get a Google font when the font I want is already available on Storefront. All I want to do is make it the default font. This is so basic it should be part of the Storefront theme. Actually, it should be part of the WordPress package. After all, it’s a basic part of publishing packages like PageMaker.

Thanks Saif, the font I want to use is part of Storefront but I just want to make it the default font. I will check out the plugins you refer to but I would have thought that changing the default font was such a basic option it would have been included in the theme. Unfortunately, of course, the wp developers are not salespeople, they are technicians … oh well …

Yes, mark it resolved. It’s not resolved but none of the suggestions were satisfactory. The change of size you demonstrated are ridiculous; you’ve simply squashed the pictures. I suppose you didn’t notice. Obviously nobody has an answer to this.

Thanks for the response Pepe. I had adjusted the size of the major offender which was the picture of Herbs (E-F). However, it still looks bigger than the image that comes up with the product. The thing is that a lot of support answers say you can adjust the dimensions through Customise which is not true. Even if I select the ‘square’ option in Customise the pictures don’t change they look the same.

Thanks for the link to creating a topic. This seems to be the main Support page. I don’t see the create topic option on any other page … this one for instance doesn’t have that option. And if you start out clicking on Forums, three options are shown. The one on the left says Support. Click on that and there’s a blurb about how support works and there’s a thing about finding the appropriate thread but, if you’re starting from scratch how do you know what threads are available? And there is nowhere on that page to create a topic. It’s a dead end page. So, it seems that one has to hassle and add questions wherever one can until someone sends you the link to the page where you can add topics. That’s not really an effective nor intuitive navigation system.

So now I’m doing it again. Here is a new topic. I’d like to change the font I use in product descriptions and blog body text. Not the headings or footers, just the body text. Google the question and all the replies say go to Customise and find the Font/Typography option. Well, there is no Font option and the Typography option only lets me change colours. I know I can change the font on individual paragraphs ‘cos I do that. But it’s tedious to have to go through paragraph by paragraph and manually change the font from the default font that appears.

Now, to your reply about creating topics, my support page … this one, in fact, doesn’t have the ‘create topic’ option. There’s a ‘search forum’ field but that’s up in the blue bit. Below that is the nav listing ‘Support???Plugin:?WooCommerce???getting thumbnails the same size’ then it says ‘Howdy, esotericbookshop and then Log Out. Then some options for resolved & unresolved topics and that’s it. No indication of where I can start a topic. That’s why I’ve been adding my queries to other people’s questions.

Thanks Roxy, I’m cool with the idea that the thumbnail sizes are set by the Storefront theme. But my question is ‘so why don’t they appear the same size then?’ Some of them are kinda good size but some are Monstrously huge.

Yeah, see, you’re on your own. The replies on these pages are by amateurs who are guessing. I’m looking for the same thing. Just found a site that says to alter pixel sizes in Customise. Trouble is, none of the options they mention are available anymore in WooCommerce; apparently they were around about 3.3 but we’re up to 7.3 and, like most computer techos they like to change stuff just for the sake of changing it ….

I’ve just looked at Catherine’s initial question and the responses. See, what I think happens is that Catherine maybe did a silly thing like me and that the solution was simple. But all the replies from tech minded people are all about going into code or deactivating things and checking stuff. And all that does is confuse the whole issue. I used to write end-user computer manuals to obviate this problem. If an end-user has a problem they usually think it’s something stupid they’ve done. The techos think it’s a problem with the code. No, usually, the simplest solution is the correct one.

Thanks Pepe but I’ve fixed it. I was putting in separate shipping zones for flat rate postage and local pickup. What that gave me was either the flat rate postage or the local pickup depending on which one was on top of the list. While playing around with it I noticed the thing that said you can enter as many shipping options to a shipping zone as you want. That was the problem. I created one shipping zone and added flat rate postage and local pickup to it and it now works perfectly. I Have seen so many questions on this that I thought that maybe there were other people out there as dumb as me so I thought I’d share the solution.

Local pickup option not showing in checkout. I’ve read all the support questions, I am running WooCommerce Shopfront. I’ve deactivated all the plugins except WooCommerce. Still doesn’t work. Actually, not quite true. If I have Local Pickup at top of shipping options, Cart and Checkout show both Local Pickup and delivery address but no way of selecting wither and no freight charges shown. If I put Flat Rate on top, then only Flat Rate shows on Cart and Checkout with appropriate Freight Charge and payment options. As I say. I’ve read and followed the docs on adding Local Pickup and read aaaaaaall the many many support questions but none of those solutions work.
