I’ve cleared the cache on all my browsers and attempted to check/recheck the “show title” function on all of them as well, but to no avail. The title still doesn’t appear. However I do notice that if I change the text in the site title’s text box it will change the text in my browser’s tab to whatever I have just entered. So the title of my site is changing, just not appearing on the actual site itself. Although I don’t have a tagline for my site, I tried putting text in that box to see what would happen, and it does work in both the live preview and after I save and publish it.

I’m also having trouble with the pixilation of my site’s logo. It looks fine when viewing it from my files, and on my computer’s photo viewing app at full screen. The dimensions of it are 300×309 and it’s saved as a .png file. The image looks fine until I save and publish it. The image looks ok, but is clearly a little blurry. Zooming in on the image it’s obviously distorted and pixilated. I read the above article, but it didn’t really solve my problems. Any other suggestions? And what do you mean by over optimizing an image?

Ok….apparently I lied. Just went back to check out my site, and the new updates/options appear to be working just fine now! It just took a few minutes for them to actually take effect.

    Thank you so, SO much!!

Downloaded the new version and still no luck unfortunately after selecting the new options. If I change my blog post from standard to image the “posts” link in my primary menu won’t take you to all my blog posts, it still shows up as “Nothing found. Ready to publish your first post? Get started here.”

Within settings in the WordPress dashboard, under reading, I’ve selected to have a static front page with the front page titled “home” then my blog page is titled “posts.” Anytime I publish a post it will automatically be published to this page, following a chronological order. I then followed the instructions in setting up a custom primary menu and added these two pages to it.

The one post I’ve published includes a title, text, and a featured image. When I select a standard format the link “postings” on my primary menu works as intended, but obviously the tiled layout on my front page doesn’t appear. When I choose an image format for the post, the tiled layout appears on my front page, along with the link to the single post’s page. But when you click “postings” from the primary menu it doesn’t seem to find any posts.

Could there possibly be a setting I’m just overlooking that I need to switch? Or can a post’s page only have standard posts on it, not image posts?

Yes I did set up my menu using that tutorial. So yes, I guess I do have a custom menu.

And yes, I think we’re talking about the same thing regarding the image posts. All I want is to post my blog posts with a featured image once. I want the featured image to be displayed on my front page in the tiled layout shown in the theme preview screenshot. I like how you can click this image and it brings users to a separate page with the blog post. But I also want the “posts” link on my primary menu to work, bringing users to all my blog posts listed in descending chronological order.

Thank you so much for the help by the way!

Does it have something to do with the gallery settings? When I choose to edit my gallery, a box pops up showing the images I have chosen for that particular category and in the upper right hand corner are the gallery settings. Options include link to, columns, random order, and size options. Under the link to setting are the options attachment page, media file, or none. It’s currently set on attachment page. If I choose media file it opens the chosen image to a new tab, and if I choose none it doesn’t open a full image at all.

I guess what exactly is the difference between image and standard posts? I would like the “posts” link on the left sidebar to take users to a blog-like styled page with all my posts categorized in descending chronological order. However I also like the feature that users can click on the picture on the front page and it’ll take them directly to a separate page showing the blog post that the featured image was used for.

As far as having additional posts that aren’t going to be image posts I’m not sure. Obviously I want the “posts” link on the front page to work and bring users to all my blog posts, if I can only do that by setting the posts as standard, I guess I’ll have to do that. But that won’t help in having the front page look like the front page in the theme preview screenshot.

Right now on my site I’ve uploaded the same post twice, once as an image post and once as a standard post. But is this the only workaround?

And what is defined as a “custom menu?” I set up my site as mentioned in the link I provided, with a static front page and a blog posts page. I’ve since added a gallery, about me, and contact pages that I’ve added to the primary menu on the left hand side.
